Another round of everyone fighting over their favorite male lead just proves how great of a story Tong Hua wrote. My first time watching a reverse harem drama has really been an interesting experience. 😅

I'm actually curious, does anyone know if there are other dramas (doesn't have to be exclusively Chinese) with as much discussion comments as LYF? I'm talking 1k+ comments. Or is our complex LYF a special case 🥹

From what I've seen, majority of dramas have discussions with only like... 0-30 comments. Sometimes there aren't even any discussion posts, even for the most popular dramas LOL

update: I see that "Till the End of the Moon" has one discussion post with 1.5k+ comments. Any more?

Tbh rather than the actress herself, I blame the script and the way her character was written. The FL does basically nothing except exist for the ML to have a love line with. That's why many people said she's like a self-insert character. When given such a character like that, I'm not sure if even good acting could save it because there's nothing to act lol.

Bai Xiaoyu and Wang Jinjin look so cute. I'm excited! Seems like it'll be my favorite genre - the nostalgic one that will make you smile and cry at the same time.

I had the same thoughts. Especially this: "Gu Sheng, on the other hand, behaves more maturely than Tong Nian but, for some reason, the way she reacts whenever ML Interacts with her, makes me slightly annoyed." (Also btw if you didn't know, the novel author of GGS and LMLMV are the same person. So I guess the author tends to write these type of FLs and stories)

I first watched this show for Tan Jianci and I've grown to like and look forward to Zhou Ye's projects as well. However, the plot (if you even consider it as one) of this drama just wasn't it for both of them. I admit the first 16 episodes or so were nice and cute but the rest felt super draggy and boring. I don't see the reason why they had to stretch it this long when barely anything happens.

I don't like how the producers made it that way, because it's confusing like you said and literally spoils the whole drama 💀 but it is what it is

Praying this isn't true 😭 I'm already upset after hearing that S2 had only 21 episodes, let alone 19??

One thing I wish is that GS would cook all by herself for once or at least help MQC cook. He tells her all those recipes and shows her what to do but doesn't let her try doing it herself. (And no, passing him the ingredients doesn't count.) She just watches and goes like "Oh okay." I don't think she's ever actually tried cooking his recipes either, she just likes listening to his voice.

Then... whenever GS does give/make him food, it's usually cooked by her mom, from her family's supermarket (aka just pre-made snacks), or prepped by MQC. It's not something that she made 100% all by herself.

I've only watched 23 episodes so maybe she actually does later. But right now I don't see it. It feels like the relationship is mostly MQC giving and GS taking, and that bothers me, even if both of them don't mind.

I have yet to finish the drama so can someone tell me, does it ever reveal specfically when MQC fell in love with GS (or when he first heard her voice)? How old were both of them?

GS being 22 and MQC being 29 is not that bad of an age gap. But if GS was like 18 and MQC was 25 when he fell in love with her... [woop woop thats the sound of the policeeee] At that point, it wouldn't even matter if MQC is or isn't a saint. He should date girls around his age.

Tan Jianci often wears shoes that enhance his height. He once said that the drama production teams would strategically try to make him look taller, like making him stand on a platform and the camera angles you mentioned.

Makeup, clothes, hair, and filters can drastically alter a person's appearance. And yes... sadly all or most of them look thin :( we blame China/Asian beauty standards. They're still very beautiful and handsome regardless ❤️

Yang Zi is 167cm (about 5 ft 5-6 in) while Tan Jianci is 174cm (5 ft 8-9 in). He may be considered short compared to other actors, but his acting skills are unmatched. Literally the best. Exceptional. Outstanding. Unrivaled. Incomparable. Top-tier. Way, way better than many others who are taller but lack in the acting department.
