I was just reading in X, someone posted.. the answer Manman gives when asked if she is Wei's or Qiao, and she replied I am both Wei as well as Qiao.. thats what we read in subtitles, but in detail it is, I am Weis wife as well as Qiaos daughter.. which is more profound...!

Since you have better grip of this... lets me check with you. I went back and started rewatchin to understand a bit more clearly... realised few things... QMs Grandfather did the first deer hunt to have allies... and Wei Grandfather pledged support if anyone ever attacked Yanzhou. they will stand with them... and all drink on that.. but when Wei was attacked, Grandfather and the family were all geared up for going... but withdrew at the last minute...saying Manman threw the moon rock for divination..... ??? what was that?? Only Manman's father insisted to send troops since they promised to do that...and he said not sending is betrayal. I think grandfather and the children all were big time cowards...!
Yes it was his effort building the canal and providing water to Wei.. and other supplies and Wei in return protected them..... other than this I cannot see anything big her grandfather did.... but of course taught her to lot to manipulate, for their land like he told her when said she will marry WS, that if WS is captivated by her... she can achieve many things for Yanzhou....! and now the eldest son is looking around for noble ladies to marry off to diff states to make allies.

I only find her father and brother who seriously want to stand up for Yanzhou...!

This is the first time I am seeing Xuan Lu in such a vicious role., but always seen her sweet and smart, this show she is a good actress... very versatile...

Best scene was when LYL was laying it thick about QMs brother, she walked in to join... and spoiled her scheme at all levels...! the understanding on WS and QM is so good... he knew this is not her brother and went along with her plans.... it was a brilliant scene

Eventhough he was irritating in the beginning, after seeing the way all WS,QM and Grandmother supported him, and once they revealed the secret of his birth... he has mellowed down, but sadly very smitten with QM.... But the commendable thing is he never behaved or even speak anything bad to her, but we all can see the care he has for her. sad...
I just saw the teaser of ep 27 where he leaves the house and goes saying he will never come back... after WS found out about the painting. The thing is WS also love him very much...

Actually... teaser of ep 26&27 shows he saw the painting and burn it and confronted him saying.. have you ever consider me as your brother? Wei Yan says.. its moment of confusion very apologetically... and leaves the house... and grandmother goes after him and falls down...
but i saw another clip where he shouts at QM and throws the gift WY gave QM.... I dont think he is angry with QM but with the whole situation...

I finished ep 25 .. and so far its all ok...!! that scene didnt come. From what I know.. the maid who thought Wei Yan painted her, went and told in anger about the painting, when she realised he painted QM, ... and WS will be angry with brother and Manman... but I dont think he will send the brother away....!!

Like your take on the story.. but in the second paragraph you said, WS had no right to make her choose... but thats totally contradictory to the Chinese traditions...! what choices were given to any wives... and Actually if you think of WS from childhood he grew up with terrible trauma of his three generation of family being killed bcoz their best friend choice not to send support... and before dying the big brother made him promise not to go to Qiaos... so life was never fair for him.. but one look at each other in the beginning... made both of them changed their mind.....lol!!...
Anyway preview of 24 & 25 they kind of pledge to each other.... so thats good...

Yes she was impressed when she first met him... infact both were... but I am yet to see her true affection....!!

She said in her drunken stuper How can you be so petty bocz you feel I dont love you back. What you wrote is a wish and what I wrote is a regret....! you are here close enough to touch.. whereas I can only send my family wishes from far....
But from what she said before, her family always treated her as a girl who will eventually leave home, so an outsider and she said.. and here also I am an outsider. Only her grandfather had any hopes on her. But no one in her family even visited her till now....!
So the excuses she is giving him... is her clever way of wiggling out of a sticky situation.. of getting caught....!! Thats why I feel does she have any love? Manman is very clever... she can talk her way out of any situation...!!
I hope... for the drama to end welll... that she will do something to put him at ease... to finally feel she do love him....!!

There is something bothering me, which is Does Manman loves Wei Shao??? I know WS is totally gone down the lovers trap....!! but what about her... does she has any love... or is she duty bound... and doing everything she is supposed to do.... I am seriously looking for a clue.
