Its not depressing, there are sad scenes but the pace is so smooth, you dont ponder over it.... but think of it as a learning curve... the child artists did a brilliant job paving way for the main actors to excel.... awesome.
This is the only drama I have seen countless time... and still go to, if I am watching some dramas.. which i really need to break off... So amazing!
The young Gu Tingye in this drama, is the SML in the currently very popular Youth drama "When I Fly Towards You".

The Molan's mother Madam Lin, her maid who disclosed to Molan Aunt Kang is hidden and they both planned and started the fire so Kang could escape and the maid disappeared... with her lame leg....! Actually even Molan got away compared to the harm she did to Minglan dropping aunt Kang to Gu's stepmother.

I thought manipulating Molan to throw herself at the second young lord was the first manipulation.... of a bigger scale...!

I have just started episode 25, and came to see the comments, how come you all say Fan Yu is crown prince... isnt he Commissioner Fan Xuan's son?

Hope she will get some serious role in this drama... I think she is also a very good actress..

Just finished this drama... what an action packed, thrilling keeping you on the edge of the seat.... I just loved it. The fight scenes are made so creatively, you cannot find fault with anything.
Just wanted to mention the characters impressed me so much...

Lin Yushen's Miao Ren Feng - no one can swing a sword like him, slashing blood trickling... Lin Yushen did great acting.. His fight scenes esp one with Hufei are so worth watching.... I will go back and watch again Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre, bcoz i watched that when i just started on Cdramas.. so couldnt remember who is who...
Hu Fei - Righteous to the extend of action without a thought for his life... but what an actor, fight scenes are so good.
Liang Jie - was a real pleasant surprise for me... I have seen her mostly as a cute and sweet FL in romcoms. Impressive her stance before lashing out her whip , her composure, very controlled emotions, her actions, acting.. was out of this world. Hope she will get more Female lead in these types of action dramas... she was a pleasure to watch.

Wow... Zhao Liying and Shen Yue... I love them...
I have seen both LJY and ZLY doing amazing serious movies... but only cute ones of Shen Yue.. so lookin forward to this.... All the best!

I have watched it so many times... there are times, i pick up some particular episode, but end up continuing till the end. Lost count of times I have watched, very addicted..!

Yea.. Hope he will soon get that part too.

I am just starting episode 14 and kind of dreading... what's going to happen to the loving father and son.... ! First time seeing this actor who acted as Jiusi's father... really fit into the role. Hope both are safe...!

Bai JingTing did brilliantly in that action scene in the restaurant scene, where he breaks wangrong's leg...! Actually the first time I saw him in a drama "The Rise of the phoenixes" was also as a martial arts expert.. very sleek and very impressive! didnt talk much just cool action only.

Omg!.... seriously, the whole synopsis is soooo wrong, ... at least put things straight no need for the whole story...
but this is not the first time, so many other dramas I didnt bother to watch after reading the synopsis given in MDL... but later learned best is to read the comments... Even Reviews are many a times not unbiased or straight drama review.. but personal views...

But comments are there after each episode... some angry retorts, some loving, supporting, cheering one... but all giving the correct reactions and you get the feel of the drama...!
Enjoy, so far its a good drama... I am watching episode 13 now...!

yea I think sooo too, like that I have noticed from comments many people talk about how beautiful or handsome an actor/actress is... rather than How good is the acting... !! or how good the story...
I was soooo into the "Fight breaks Sphere.".. I took a break to watching light dramas in between... but dropped and went back and finished... too good a drama that is.

Even I was alright with the ending, since he did wake up with a twinkle in his eyes.
Disappointing Cliff Hanger that I have seen, even though the dramas were excellent were "The Rise of Phoenixes" and "Princess Agents". Here there are innuendos suggesting he wont die easily...! Actually I was more worried about Yao Chen..., with the ring in the nasty person's hand.

I usually read a lot of reviews or comments here before I start one... but if its new... and if the story sounds good or if I like one of the leading actors/actresses... I might give it a go...
Bcoz I have noticed, reviews are not unbiased, its after all everyone's view or opinion... there are so many who likes these "coquettish talk" lol!

Watching this now in 2023 for the first time, I cant say enough how impressive is Wue Lei's acting... when he did this he was just 19 and in certain scenes... his side view still has that "Fei Liu" looks...

I have seen Ever Night, with Arthur Chen, doin same.. strangely he looked more mature.. even though he was only 18 at that time. These actors are so good and pleasure to watch...!

I am at Ep 33 now... and was checking who directed such a complex and amazing drama and was surprised to see the director also acted as Xio Yan's father, the Xio Clan Head...!

Low budget is not an issue... some of them are really a gem... like Imperial Coroner was great.... so was "A familiar face"
Dubbing is a disappointment... but then I am not Chinese, so initially it didnt matter since I didnt know anyone. But as we progress its bad... Like I try to watch Zhao LiYing, Seven Tan, BaiLu dramas without missing. So I was surprised, when I heard Zhao LiYing in LoF sounding high pitched.. then I am seriously depending on the subs, but I like to hear them too.. to get the feel ..

Me too.. I watched lots and lots CDramas and repeated also some of them... but I stay away from FL with baby squeaky talks and pouting all the time.. People seems to enjoy it.. but for this reason, I couldn't complete LBFD, even though Dylan Wang did an amazing job... which I will eventually.
