ROFL......! I just finished ep 5....... seriously. Its just 3 hours and 3 episodes.... Couldn't resist these two.. LGX is toooo devious, he can read her thoughts too. Wonder what is the connection, how he knows her.... of course it will all be revealed... in later episodes... I know. I like this director's work, on top of that these two actors who were so serious in PA totally goofing around here...!
I am limiting myself to one ep a day....lol! Music is too good so far... the Yunniang one was excellent... in ep 2! the location... characters, LGX in white.. and ZLY in that looose rob plus the soft eerie music, the whole scene was so ethereal...!!
The chicken was super adorable. Im glad they spended a lot of time in post production work.
At the press conference ZLY explained why she was voice dubbed.. they have tried three diff before confirming the one which most suited the character much better than their own. I have read somwhere LGX voice dubbing is same as in PA... !

ha!....better to say chicken since she clucks like a chicken or what is left of a phonenix now.. I just loved the creation of this bird.. beautiful feathers..... hmmmmm.... both Lin Yi and Zhou ye are good actors... story is alright, except for the romance between the MLs..... seriously the FL looks clueless even at the most romantic scene, many a times end of a scene together... i feel... they really dont know what to do... kind of hanging on without any expression...waiting for the "Cut". I am on episode 21 and the silk lingerie scene was such a let down... she was hesitant to bring it home..wondering if he will like it... and Lin Yi put such an act of loving it... then she replied, "I will let you borrow" phat..! such a kill joy.....

I have been seeing bits and pieces of press conference for this movie, the director Zhang Yimou is a big name, won numerous awards and recognitions and I think he does movies and dramas mostly showing the toughness of Chinese people when facing hardship....!
Main leads are LJy and ML. Others like Zhao Liying has only small parts, but what I have seen of her part...looks really good...!
I have just finished rewatching Joy of Life.... just to refresh my mind... before Season 2 comes... what a great drama ... thoroughly enjoyed... ! Something I must say.... I always admired the kids in Chinese dramas.... actually they are the ones who introduces a character initially... and little Fan Xian (Finn Han) was so amazing... he acted with so much confidence, arrogance and couldn't care attitude and the swag..... can easily believe its the young....Zhang Ruo Yun. both are so amazing.... Guo Qilin.... I like him so much... he was brilliant in "My Heroic Husband... (again these two brothers in that alsoo...lol|) and Song Yi... love how supportive is she of her brother...! its heartwarming to see the family... how they all melted into one family...!
Sad Wang Yang had so little time....
The only thing which I wanted to ask is why they put a female into Guy's role as His Majesty... the emperor...of BeiQi...! somehow I never liked her in "Battle through the Heaven" so didnt enjoy seeing her...!
