Surprisingly not boring for a 4-hr flick. Last hour went draggy but the ending made up for it... I truly loved it! The director surely teased us with that ending, I felt tricked and happy at the same time lol
Great article again, guys! I remember watching Pulgasari and not really fond of it, but still find it amusing. I'll check Hong Kil Dong next since it's subbed.
This one is truly entertaining and another level of extra! I anticipated the style, but the reveal scenes were as hilarious as before. Mao's expression when in love was a delight, her feelings were captured so well. While we could tell where her conflicting thoughts would end up, the way it was resolved was still heartwarming.
One take, no cut, just acting continuously like in theater and the setting which is the airport served as their stage. All actors did a great job, but my fave would be the father, the grandpa, and the lead herself! I like Ikematsu since I first saw him on Love's Whirlpool but his "acting" here is just so over the top, I can't xD With the mother, I just recently saw her on Folklore: Tatami and seems like she's more wacky and trippy here than her character there lol
Storywise, an interesting look on secrets and quirks of each family member. The unintentional stopover caused their issues to surface and luckily settled them at the moment so lots of comical acts and the execution was done well.
Among the 3 episodes that I've watched, I like this one the most. It's gripping right from the start. Acting is excellent from each cast - the way the mother changes her demeanor and the son switches his expressions are spot-on. The mother is actually ironic for not addressing her son's behaviour and end up relying in supernatural beliefs. The shamanism reminds me of The Wailing, just a different purpose. Plus the jump scares are effective (at least to me) with the lights out.
Interesting especially the first half. Each episode has a nice twist but my fave scenes were on ep2-4. Although second half became slow, I'm still fine with it, just had to listen to the dialogues/explanation of what's happening. What bothered me was the incident that was shown almost every episode, too much flashbacks for that. Overall, it kept me engaged and I like the actors so I enjoyed this one somehow.
How can I not love this? Four of my faves are here! Postmen, Meikenchiku, Higuma, Relumino --enjoyed these a lot! I only watched some of Reply on tv, the rest are interesting so I'm eyeing them. Slice of life is just calming, easy watch and surprisingly I don't get bored with them. As long as concept is new and visuals are great, plus I don't mind the pace then for sure I'll like it.
What confuses me is that, FL was about to escape from Yuukun means she really wanted to escape. She could have escape in the mall again but chose not to. I mean, that was quite inconsistent mood for a day? One moment she's in a rush to save her life, then the next thing she's comfortably hanging out with the perpetrator like no trace of mind control? which led me think she might've been in love with Kazuki... But going back to the scenes, I chose to believe that she might have bond with the brother or show affection to the perpetrator, but in the end, it's her way to survive. After all, she had this hope for her childhood friend. Sadly, it's too late.
