Choi Soo young is the stand out to me right now. I also appreciate tip on the other cliché, which I assumed would happen eventually, so thank you for saying this.

Back to the drama... The camera confessional format is literally the basic blueprint for reality television. This drama capitalizing on that isn't even original... see both versions of "The Office" as an example. Also, it made no sense that they didn't recognize each other for so long and that once they did they never went in about the show in their normal interactions. The show was just an excuse to break the 4th wall throughout, which got old quick for me because it didn't add any real character discovery or depth, nor did it push the plot forward.

As for the Mona Lisa comparison... many people who do finally see the small painting encased in glass far away in person feel it's over-hyped.

Implying this drama is for the elite is a stretch, unless having a Netflix account is considered elite (I assume there are alt ways to watch). I also assume many people who didn't like it didn't finish it or bother to review it, which explains the number of 9+/10 star reviews vs the overall mediocre score. People who like it clearly buy into the characters and like them enough to care which is a preference, not intelligence, but for the rest of us, the experience is quite frustrating and underwhelming, which again is just a preference.

I'm glad I got you back to actually talking about the drama... the reason for this entire site, but I suspect you're not done being obsessed with me yet. ; )

And yes, feel free to watch youtube clips, which is a good analogy for the style of this drama. Maybe that explains your love of this drama better than anything else you've attempted to "explain". It attempts to cash in on a social media reality TV vibe, I think it just does it poorly, or not in a way that I found interesting or compelling. This is me bringing it back to the actual subject and away from your obsession with me.

If you don't have anything else you want to watch now that would be the perfect time to log off of this site until you do. Bless your condescending heart in the meantime and I wish you well on your next attempt to make "friends" lol.

It's not the slower pace that's the issue it's actually the tropes. The characters may be blunt but they keep doing the same miscommunication and guarded feelings cliche over and over. I get that it's probably not my taste, so it's good to know that I shouldn't expect more. Right now I've watched a few episodes of the same thing on repeat with barely any progress so it's frustrating, and since the mood doesn't appeal to me either, nor do the characters if I'm honest, I figured I'd get insight from folks who finished it already.

I'm trying to get better at dropping dramas I don't click with but sometimes curiosity is too strong to let it go. I'm on episode 10 now and the story still feels stagnant. Usually, this is the textbook "turning point" episode so I will see how I feel by the end. I just wish I saw character growth from episode to episode instead of this awkward back and forth feeling I'm getting from the majority of them.

I appreciate the perspective though.

I started watching because of the great reviews but so far I'm very bored and I'm on episode 8! Is this as good as this drama gets? Is there something that happens that will make it feel like it's dragging less? I don't need anything major to happen just something besides this repetitive awkwardness... or is this the chemistry that is appealing to fans of this drama? I'm torn between dropping this now and wanting to see what happens... if anything... to these characters.

I love both of those dramas yes, and if you read my reviews I make it clear why. Stories can be silly and unrealistic and fun and entertaining but bad writing is bad writing. Both of those dramas have many things this drama fails at... better chemistry, a story arch with beats that fill the entire 16 episodes without repeating the same conflict ad nauseam, comedy that actually made me laugh, characters that are memorable and actually show growth/change, not being boring... So yeah... a much higher level than this drama which wasted my time with a format that went nowhere and made no sense. They heard each other's confessionals and didn't recognize their voices? lol! The more you try to talk down to me in defense of this drama the more I realize how bad it is. Did you write your own review? You should probably do that if you haven't instead of trying to attack mine. I don't mind a debate but this is getting ridiculous and your attempts to insult me on top of that is sad. Just talk about the drama and it would be fine. Try to talk about me as a person when you know nothing about me says more about your comprehension than you liking bad dramas.
