It helps, I'm halfway through ep 2 and a lot is already annoying. Thank you for your review!
LOL!!! you're welcome!

That kiss reminded me of the kiss from Dr Romantic. Similar steamy situation in the locker room
It reminds me of "Jealousy Incarnate". Not quite as steamy to me, but just as intense!

Title The Interest of Love Spoiler
Oh and also, no matter how bitchy or manipulative or pathetic or just whoever you are, nobody deserves to get…
I think this is more complicated which is why this drama is so addictive. Mi Kyung started a relationship with Sang Soo based on her own feelings, not his. He is trying to be a good boyfriend because he does like her and feels comfortable with her but they both know he doesn't feel the same way she does. She also knows exactly who he likes but would rather be passive-aggressive than be honest with herself. She's hoping he will stay with her out of obligation and eventually grow to love her which is sad. Neither one of them wants to hurt the other and now that everyone knows about their relationship there's even more pressure to stay together.

Soo Young, on the other hand, dated Jong Hyun (I think) out of convenience. He's sweet. He cares about her and encourages her. If he became a cop he would probably have asked to marry her. She tries to do the same and encourage him but a relationship based on them both being poor outsiders and her insecurity over her social status can't hold up. They don't even seem all that compatible. I honestly think that thinking he will be loyal and won't look down on her is why she said yes to dating him in the first place. Does she even like the dude? I'm not convinced,

Both of these relationships were on the brink of ending even if the two leads never got together or still liked each other. Everyone involved has just been avoiding the inevitable and going through the motions. When he said "I can't" that was him finally saying aloud that he can't pretend he will stay with Mi Kyung anymore. Should they have broken up officially before the kiss? That would be ideal, but I think the kiss is the catalyst for them making the hard decisions to finally face the end of their relationships.

I would only consider it really cheating if they plan to stay in their relationships while seeing each other in secret. I guess that could still happen... but I doubt it.

I guess we shall see next episode!!!

I know episode 10 is traditionally the "kiss" episode in a lot of dramas so I knew it was coming... and it did not disappoint! So many people go through the motions of a relationship they're supposed to be in vs how they truly feel. This is about to get messy! Exciting, inevitable, but messy!

Also, I'm pretty sure the dude who just got married is cheating on his wife already. Right?

same hahaha and i was hesitant because of the comments and ratings but I’m really enjoying it, looking forward…
Saaaaame! It’s frustrating having to wait now

I thought I wouldn’t like this drama because of the date within your class theme but it’s been more interesting than I thought watching these awkward love triangles and squares evolve. I love that the episodes have been choosing a new character’s pov to begin from each time too. It makes me invested in all the main characters now… and their mamas! I stopped at Ep 7 but I’m excited to continue. Who knew?!’ Lol

how is the love triangle is it bearable?
it's frustrating on purpose in my opinion.

It’s hard to watch…the friendzoning has been brutal
When was he ever pushy tho? He actually went along with exactly what she wanted but that doesn't change how he feels. She wanted him to be close to her on her terms and he tried.. but unlike her, he isn't easily dishonest. That's the real conflict. The issue is her manipulating two people she claimed to care about.

If he really just thought about his own feelings he would have told the king who she was, told her he knew she was his fiance and that they were promised to each other or left them both from the beginning.

Title The Forbidden Marriage Spoiler
Shin Won is kind, protective, masculine, and not a crybaby like the king,, he is really sweet, understanding,…
Totally agree about the King. Of course he's a crybaby. The whole plot surrounds him having a huge tantrum and banning marriage for anyone because his wife died. I know folks like
Kim Young Dae but The King is pretty ridiculous. I can empathize and even see his charm but he is certainly immature, irrational, and self-involved.

Shin Won, always had the king's back, put up with his immaturity, and was honest about his feelings always in spite of the king using authority to have others kiss his butt. That's a real friend and it will be tragic if/when the king loses that friend. Shin Won is literally the only character not lying to or manipulating the king in some way... and all he got for his trouble is a poisoned arm.

Title The Forbidden Marriage Spoiler
It’s hard to watch…the friendzoning has been brutal
Folks are acting like the SML has been stalking her. He was supposed to marry her and then she disappeared and was replaced by a random chick. Then he found her again and they started to become close to her so, of course, he has feelings! But he realized she was hiding and in danger so he never mentions their past out loud. If he was pushy he would have outed her as his ex-bride. Instead, he just does his job protecting her and tried to go along with her friendship declaration. Getting to know her just confirmed the feelings he's had for a while.

She doesn't like the SML back, she likes the wishy-washy king instead and that's fine. I just don't find her and the king's relationship all that appealing. She pretended to be possessed by his dead wife and now is in a love triangle with his dead wife in a way. It's weird. She's worried that he doesn't love the real her? He doesn't even know the real her at all. So yeah... I'll keep watching but their kiss and confessions were pretty "meh". I look forward to the SML hopefully keeping me engaged.

I don't blame him. He can't help it that he has liked her for a while and that he knows that she was his fiancé. The FL has not been honest with him completely and she knows he's keeping her secrets, which is why their friendship sometimes feels conditional on top of the friendzoning. The whole situation is messy. I'm just glad he told her he can't be friends anymore instead of just lingering on the sidelines.

He was sort of a villain in "Military Prosecutor Doberman", but he redeemed himself.
Oh, I haven’t seen that one. Maybe I will watch it after this.

yeah, but I just preferred his character so I am disappointed she friendzoned him so hard when the king character is kinda annoying and childish. I'm hoping Shin Won at least becomes a fun villain! He deserves a good plot at least.

I can't control where my review appears but I did my best in giving my perspective and I guess it's one shared…
You should have stuck to reviewing the drama and not reviewing my "review" which is what is presumptuous and condescending. I never have a problem with opposing POVs but your approach was directed at me so you get what you give. If your goal was to talk about why you found value in this drama, to use your own words, "you could do better".

You clearly give this drama more benefit of the doubt but I stick to what I saw and how I feel about it. It was messy not because of the mix of genres but because of weak followthrough in the storytelling. To use your analogy the melody and the tempo were at odds not in harmony, and the lyrics used big words that didn't connect in an ear-pleasing way. Instead of a beautiful song, I'm left with random sounds that I'm told have some deeper meaning but I just want a great song. So if someone else reading my review and looking forward to a good song reads my words and they resonate then I am happy. If this drama is your jam but you can't be bothered to share why or write your own review that's unfortunate. I wish you took the same energy you used to be self-righteous with me to do that instead. Differing opinions about dramas are what's great about MDL, it's your approach that I am not a fan of.

This review appears on the front page of this drama and it seems to share the same concept with a lot of others.…
I can't control where my review appears but I did my best in giving my perspective and I guess it's one shared by many. You're welcomed to say you got something different from the drama but it's presumptuous to think your opinion should change mine. It should tell you something when you acknowledge I noticed the details and still wasn't impressed. I would call this drama aimless and convoluted at best. Don't blame me, blame the writers.
