Saw a pic where Kurosawa carries Adachi in his arms and that scene will be in episode 5!! Haaaaaaaa!!! Episode…
I saw it! Gosh, I can't wait to see the "Princess carry" in episode 5. How are we going to survive a hug or a kiss? Imagining Kurosawa and Adachi hugging each other is giving me butterflies huhu

So, at the rooftop scene of EP3, we see that after Adachi confesses that he didn't hate Kurosawa's kiss, Kurosawa…
Yeah, in the manga, at least that moment, it made me think that Adachi is not only aware of Kurosawa's feelings but also returns them somehow. Which in the drama they are taking it more slow, having Adachi being uncertain about the situation and his own feelings. He is still taking time to get to know Kurosawa but he is not always sure about what is the right thing to do. But as the other two users said, it works better in the drama for the reasons mentioned above.

Thanks for replying, even though you haven't read the manga. I was curious to see how other fans see the change ^^

It's fine so far, although I find the moments between tension/searching and slice-of-life, a bit jarring sometimes. Tbh, the romance part annoys me and I think it's not needed for the story but that's up to the person, I see others here who like it. I am most interested in LJS as a character so far.

Also, what's up with the makeup on SYR? I get she is the female lead and portrayed by Krystal but come on. It's not like she needs the makeup as a soldier in a dangerous mission. Simple is better sometimes.

Yes, I definitely see what you mean by hot-and-cold attitude. It seems that the writers will take their time to develop Adachi's feelings and response towards Kurosawa, which makes me excited to see. And I like what you say about Manga Adachi=Shy but Drama Adachi=Pure ^^

Thanks for the reply! Nice to see other pov of the scene.
P.S.: Your Sawako PP is so cute! "Kimi no Todoke" is such a cute story.

"He wanted to understand Kurosawa but wasn't sure if it meant he wants to be kissed or not" I think this sentence sums it up pretty well. Indeed, as you said, Adachi in the live-action is not sure about how to react to these new feelings yet, hasn't unidentified them completely; he just knows that he doesn't dislike Kurosawa, the feelings Kurosawa holds for him and he is starting to feel something too, but still uncertainty holds his mind.

Thanks for the reply. I find it interesting when fans can come together and talk about stuff like that. It makes the series more enjoyable for me :)

I would like to discuss a scene about EP3 but it also involves the manga, so I am going to put in a spoiler just…
So, at the rooftop scene of EP3, we see that after Adachi confesses that he didn't hate Kurosawa's kiss, Kurosawa gets tense and ask Adachi if he understands what he just said (and indirectly what he heavily implied). In the drama, Adachi acts confused and says "What?" watching a determined Kurosawa stepping forward in order to kiss him. But in the manga it was a bit different:

In that same scene, after Kurosawa asks the same towards Adachi, we see a panel of Adachi, shyly looking away first and the next panel nodding while blushing (and then we see Kurosawa stepping forward again). I thought it was an interesting change from the manga and got me surprised. So, I wanted to ask those who have read the manga, what did you think about it? Do you think they should have kept it the same as in the manga or the already changes in the drama can lead to this other reaction too?

Ok I just realised something about the first scene of episode 1! This is not really a spoiler since its just a…
I noticed right-away and thought to myself "this is foreshadowing for the huge change in Adachi's life". I love when writers do the the flash-forward so early and create anticipation for what is about to happen that makes the MC act this way. So, glad you brought it up here since many fans might not have picked it even after the re-watches and it adds to the nice discussions.

That's awesome, I also read in an interview of the two leads, Machida and Akaso hoping it could reach international…
No need to apologize! Please feel free to write as much as you want ^^

Ok, I see the similarities now. As I said I haven't watched OL in a while so I mostly remember more "in your face" stuff and forgot many of the details you posted. So yes, it's plausible that CM got inspired by OL in some ways. I like both in their own unique ways of telling a love story.

Just found out the director of ep3 was not the same as ep 1. 2. No wonder the editing style is different.
Ok, now that makes sense. EP3 had some camera work that the previous 2 episodes didn't have, the editing style during mind-reading (slow-mos) and the intensity in Kurosawa's look in certain key scenes. Do you happen to know where I can check who directed and wrote an episode?

I think I read it too although the interview was kinda big so I kinda skimmed through it fast lol But it's really nice that they want to reach more people and it's working, even though not the legal way.
I haven't watched OL in a while, so I am probably forgetting stuff, but I think the relationship in OL was more in the open and blunt, aka Maki was very straightforward (pun intended) about his feelings towards Haruta while here it's Adachi who is reacting towards Kurosawa because he can read his thoughts.

I just wanted to share a tweet I found today. "Cherry Magic" was featured in a newspaper article and the producer talks about the surprising, overwhelming and positive reactions from overseas fans! Here is the tweet in question:

And here part of the translation:

"The producer Kanami Honma said: We discussed with the screenwriter Erika Yoshida to make the series not hurt anyone. "

This is so wholesome. I am really glad our response to the series reached them :)

Title Gameboys
Thank you for this honest and objective review!!! We appreciate it still. Comments like this are very much welcomed…
Please, there is no need to thank me. I wanted to write something honest about a series I watched, so I used words that are true to my feelings and not to offend the fans (not that I have a negative opinion of the show, as I enjoyed it). But yes, I dislike the whole "A series is better than B series because..." and then speak ill of it. Sometimes it's better to close our mouths when we have nothing good to say as there is no need to say our opinion every time.

I am glad to see many positive comments here and how the situation in the story related to so many of you. It's good to see that the hard work of people on and off camera got a response and supported them through the end. I hope both "Pearl Next Door" and "Gameboys S2" have the same luck :)

Sadly it's a norm now, worse with the pandemic to use social media for that level of primary socialisation.
I mean it's a pretty creative way to tell a story, so props to them. It just doesn't work for me very well but I am open to see how it goes.

Watched the 5 episodes today and I enjoyed them! Good series, with a cozy feeling (I love their apartment) and good actors. The prom scene was very beautiful and the OST is amazing too.

Pretty good start! Even though I am still not a fan of the "using social media" to tell the story, I am here to support GL series and of course my gorgeous Pearl <3 Karleen is beautiful but Alex is THAT girl, if you know what I mean lol And seeing the comments, they will tackle biphobia so yes, sign me up!

We have Dean in UWMA but apparently many fans of Thai BL call him and his relationship with Pharm boring. So I…
Yes, I do agree with you about the actors. Fluke killed it as the episodes were nearing the finale and his break down scene was absolute amazing, it gave me chills. But yeah, Ohm can definitely improve which is why I said it could be the director telling him how to perform for his "vision" of the character and since I haven't read the novel, I can't say much in regards if it's the same or different character.

Sure, whatever you find enjoyable! The whole thing is subjective: what I like, you hate and the opposite happens as well. I don't really have a "fixed" type of relationship I prefer because sometimes I might like the troupe (eg, enemies to lovers) under a certain story or the execution is good that it attracts me and other times, I might dislike it a lot and not go near it haha

Tbh, I find Dean/Pharm boring but that has nothing to do with how Dean respects and cherishes Pharm. I think my issue is that either the character, the actor or the director, or a combination of all three made his character appear flat on screen with barely any facial expressions and reactions. I haven't read the novel so I can't talk about that, but for the series that was my impression. There are male characters out there who can don't follow the non-con elements and are nice, which is something we shouldn't even praise and talk about in first place because it's common decency, but alas my point is even if you have relationships like Kurosawa/Adachi or Dean/Pharm, it also matters the execution, direction and acting of everything to make it appealing to you.
