It's a huge headache, for sure. Sometimes the texts work and sometimes they don't. If i recall, i managed to do it when the text verification was working. You could also see what the most recent questions are on Reddit about it. Also, did you try the app and a web browser? Not sure if one might work better than the other. Sorry, Chinese internet stuff is always a headache for those of us overseas!

Thank you so much for responding, and I totally agree it's frustrating that some of the more serious and artistic works aren't made available to international viewers. Good news - I set my ExpressVPN to Hong Kong, and I can now watch the show! Looking forward to it!!
Bummer, I'm in Canada and this is apparently "temporarily unavailable" on WeTV in my region due to copyright restrictions. Viewers, which countries are you in where it's working for you? I could try setting my VPN to your country instead.
These are all so great because each performance has its own unique charm. Chi Luo Luo and A-Chu Guniang, which were in the same episode of the same show, are totally different!! and the Melody Journey ones are great because they're new original songs and we get to hear LYN's interpretations of the demos we heard earlier in the episode.
I started watching this because Liu Yuning is in an upcoming episode, and I'm really enjoying it! Everyone's constantly joking with each other, seeing the songwriters is super interesting, and the Macau stage performances are gorgeous. that theatre is amazing, and the singers are all so talented.
Heyyyyy, it's the same director as New Life Begins and My Heroic Husband! That's gotta be why it's got such a similar vibe. Loved the first 3 episodes.
no, not the same family. In fact, it gets explained in a recent episode. Ye Xiaoying comes from Ye Village (presumably lots of people there are named Ye). He's a fan of Ye Dingzhi's father, General Ye, so he decides he wants to revive the Ye army.
