Yay, the princess consort is an ally! I really think the strength of this drama is its script. as people have said in previous comments, none of the characters are acting like idiots. and now we have 2 great female characters on top of the female lead. Really enjoying this!

I haven't seen the end, but I would be pretty surprised if everyone survives. also, this is only part 1. they also filmed part 2, and we don't know yet when that will air.

Loving the dynamic the Chieftain has set up between Luo Minghai and Di Lin. The Chieftain is truly diabolical, using cold-blooded Di Lin as a tool to break Luo Minghai. Everyone is acting so well.

That scene at the end of ep 19 with Di Lin and his wife where he's just returned from executing Luo Minghai's last remaining relative, and realizes there's still blood on his hand while he touches his wife's pregnant stomach - truly Shakespearean! There's truly not something right in that guy's head!

yeah, I think the dynamic between her and ZX is the real problem. it's really not clear why exactly they like each other! ZX isn't that good to her most of the time, so I don't even know why she's so glued to him.

I blame the writers, too. It feels like she is taking a similar trajectory to Zhao Lusi's character Leyan in The Long Ballad, except that the writers don't understand how to write a female character well. Leyan was a spoiled princess too, but she learned and grew and it was enjoyable to watch her journey.

Well, LYN has his own management company, so he chooses his own scripts. He has also said he chooses projects based on the script. So it must be 1. the scripts he's being offered and 2. the scripts he chooses. So I guess he doesn't mind that all his characters die?

I know, from what LYN has said in his livestreams, the odds don't seem good. also, his character has a wife, which seems like a other sign that he's gonna die 😅

hopefully that means the plot will be well-paced! sometimes series that are longer get really draggy.
