I 100% agree with you, I've found quite a few loopholes in the story, it's good for entertainment sake, but if…
Haha exactly! and yes, the issues started from episode 1, and I am used to loopholes, I could turn a blind eye if they are not too much but once I lose count it's problem xD so yea, it's a good historical drama with outstanding production, acting and SFX/OST, the story is lacking though and holding the drama back.
And you are lucky to comment when the drama just got released xD right now, it seems like it's warfare if you speak the forbidden words, I think there were 3 people who got where I am coming from, couple of others respected my opinion and said theirs kindly, few others twisted what I said and couple of others personally attached me 😂
I wondered about the child's voice too. It didn't make sense that someone unfamiliar could mimic a child's voice…
Haha here we are we meet again ❤ be honest how long you are planning to keep leimai photo as your profile picture xD are you not ready yet to move on? xD
Regarding "The Double", yes it's a very enjoyable drama, as I said the production, acting, visual effects, and OST are outstanding unfortunately the issues in the story are what's holding back but if you are one of those who don't mind that and focus more on how the drama makes you feel, then you would have an issue with it :D
Everybody is entitled to their opinion :) but i don’t think there is any Chinese historical drama out there…
That's not it, you're missing the point. When you get too technical and start to question everything, you'll find imperfections even in the best-made historical dramas. However, what separates the best from the rest is the small to nonexistent occurrence of flaws, loopholes, and lazy writing. (supposedly the rest is good: acting, ost....etc) :)
Unfortunately, in this drama, there are many such issues, which can't be said about shows like Rise of the Phoenixes, The Story of Minglan, One and Only, and others.
Hopefully, that clarifies where I'm coming from in case there was any ambiguity.
You are right in the sense that many things in this show have no explanation or poor execution. it is far from…
Glad to know that there are people who get it ❤❤ and yes I understand where you are coming from, there are people who rate based on how the drama makes them feel and that's fine, I am not like that :) I am sure there are people like it
so this is the guy from love like galaxy which logic crap beside hook up and kiss. it is very clear aunt scream…
What are you even talking about? 😂 Please, learn how to construct a clear sentence. My head hurts from trying to decipher the utter nonsense you're spouting.
to your second point — XFF did ask XH to find a ventriloquist haha. they can 'throw' their voice (this requires…
We agree to disagree on the similarity of the voices (which in my OP I already said that for argument sake I will ignore it and repeated that in my last comment), but you completely ignored the second part of my comment which was the focal point ;)
Lets say I rate a drama on;- main leads- supporting leads- whole cast- the acting itself- chemistry with other…
This is a struggle trying to reply to everyone individually 😂. I went into more technical details in my previous replies, which explain even further that there's an issue with all this. I'll repeat again: this was just a single instance, and there are plenty of similar issues throughout this drama. Some I can turn a blind eye to, but others I can't, no matter how hard I try.
Okay We understand but you can't say it's overrated because you have your your mind to judge we have our own mind…
What the hell? You want to dictate what I can and can't say? Just as you are entitled to your opinion and can rate the drama however you want, so am I. It's overrated (as are other dramas on MDL), and I stand by my opinion.
to your second point — XFF did ask XH to find a ventriloquist haha. they can 'throw' their voice (this requires…
Well, I disagree. I have five younger siblings, and when we were all young, I could easily tell them apart just by their voices, even without seeing them 😂. The same goes for other kids in the neighborhood, so from my personal experience, it's not the case. And as I said, for argument's sake, if I accept that the second thing isn't believable at all, let's consider another point. I play video games with headphones that have surround sound capability, and I can approximately tell the direction of another character from their footsteps or gunfire. Which is more advanced: the headphones or our ears? Surely the latter. And please don't make me go even deeper, or I'll start talking about lip synchronization 🤣.
to your second point — XFF did ask XH to find a ventriloquist haha. they can 'throw' their voice (this requires…
Yes, I figured that out a long time ago 😂. Most people here seem to rate dramas based on how they make them feel, not on technical aspects. So, I know very well that this drama isn't an exception. When I say it's overrated, that's if I try to rate it on its own. But if we compare it to other dramas on MDL, then it's a different story because there are other dramas with higher scores that aren't better.
to your second point — XFF did ask XH to find a ventriloquist haha. they can 'throw' their voice (this requires…
Haha, come on, if you are close to the person, ventriloquism only works if the one producing the sound is literally next to what's supposed to be talking. In this case, the one providing the sound wasn't close, and her "father" was literally in front of her, the other people where around her. It's not even 1% believable. The thing is, they could have done something else to make it 100% believable (if we ignore the first point). They could have staged something that separates the female lead from the crowd a bit, then she acts like she's talking while the ventriloquist is close but unseen. In that case, you can't identify the source of the sound, and it's 100% believable. By the way, I only mentioned this, but there are many similar issues in previous episodes too. It's still a good drama, but in my book, it's lacking in story, and that obviously holds it back.
This drama is without a doubt the best ongoing drama right now, but it is still OVERRATED.
The production, acting, visual effects, and OST are outstanding. However, the story is lacking in many ways. There are numerous instances where, if you think for a second about what's happening, you’ll realize that it doesn't make sense. Additionally, there are plenty of instances of lazy writing.
I just watched episode 28 so I'm going to give a small example from that episode. Are we really supposed to believe that someone can mimic a child's voice who died several years ago? How did that happen? Did she go through a library of voices, and the mother picked the voice closest to her daughter’s, which is still remembered by everyone? And let’s say, for argument's sake, that there's no issue there. When you are standing in front of someone, and another person is talking while you just move your lips, do the person in front of you and the people around you not realize that the voice isn't coming from you? Hell no! Even if we ignore the first issue, the second could be easily fixed, but it wasn't. So during this climax scene, when the maid somehow got pierced with a sword close to her heart and still had the strength to take another hit on her back, I'm left wondering what's happening here.
People might say that I'm too harsh on the drama, but I always try to turn a blind eye to a few issues with the story and lazy writing. However, there are so many in this drama that it holds it back from reaching the realm of greatness or being a masterpiece. Instead, it's just a good or very good historical drama, and that’s pretty much it.
You try watch it yourself, as i said several times on this page that this drama doesn’t deserves such a low…
Thanks. You and Dana7 clarified everything to me, I think I have a full picture of what's going on now.
In my comment when I said : "If the script is bad, for instance, why did Yang Mi accept it?!!" that was a rhetorical question. I know very well that for a high budget drama there's no way that they go for a script/plot that has no potential. The problem was basically due to bad execution. Regarding Yang Mi acting and what she was blamed for, my previous comment to Dana7 should hit the nail on the head 😉

Haha LOL so her character should be a cold and expressionless, and people criticizing her for literally playing the character! What the heck is this?
This is remind me of another drama which is Love and Redemption, I remember that Yuan Bing Yan was criticized for the same thing by some people, her character was supposed to not show any kind of emotions that's why she was cold most of the drama until she gets over what was put on her. It was weird when she was criticized for the same thing you mentioned here...
I think I have a clear picture of what's going on : A highly anticipated drama didn't live up to the expectations when it was released due to several reasons, so people was frustrated and rightfully so, but then cp fans joined the party and decided to use the opportunity very well to take a shot at the FL and put the blame of everything on here. Nice 👌
I saw some people saying that they don't remember the last time Yang Mi had a great drama... So what? It happens... Some actors are just unlucky, Liu Shi Shi didn't have a single decent drama for over a decade, then she delivered a masterclass in A Journey To Love, does that mean that Liu Shi Shi was a bad actress and at the age of 36 she transformed! Obviously not.
The story isn't just promising, it won best novel few years ago if I am not mistaken, and the preparation (pre-production phase) took so much time since lot of stuff are needed for this project and they were never done in China movie scene previously 😁 hopefully it does wonders.
Regarding Dongjng Island, in case you are interested, here's the synopsis : The film's story is based on a true historical event from World War II: In 1942, a Japanese cargo ship named "Lisbon Maru," carrying more than 1,800 British POWs, was sunk by a torpedo attack from an American submarine near the Zhoushan Archipelago. Nearby Dongji fishermen risked their lives to rescue over 300 British soldiers and protected and rescued three British individuals during a large-scale search by Japanese forces. This event is known as the "Lisbon Maru Sinking Incident."
Unfortunately, that may not be possible. One movie starring him, "Dwelling by the West Lake," was already released…
During his interviews, he always says that he is working trying to achieve his dream. The dream is that he is referring to is getting Best Actor award. He knows very well that to accomplish that, he needs to do movies and they need to be great. And by the way, both movies seem like big projects, in one of them he gonna work with my favorite Chinese actress Ni Ni ♥️ I am excited for that. But still I am a bit sad that we may not get any drama soon. Hopefully I am wrong.
but yea there are so many cyber warriors
who want to dictate what you could say and what you couldn't
And regarding the ending, the Double doesn't give the vibe of sad ending drama xD we'll see.

Regarding the weirdos saying that he should work with other men 😂 are they a part of the rainbow cult or what. What the hell is going!
