There's absolutely nothing wrong with an actor being known as pretty. I just don't believe in deluding myself into thinking he gets these roles because of his acting skills. He's popular, a face genius, and he makes money. He's an idol, money just naturally comes along with casting idols and that's who directors like to go with because that's how they'll get the money and popularity.
And the thing is, I don't hate him for getting these roles. That's just the way things work in society, and if people offered me things because of my good looking face, why would I refuse? It's money, and I'd never have to worry about struggling financially if I budget well. Good for him that he has this thing going for him, I wish I could do this too.
Song Hye Kyo and Shin Se Kyung are still getting roles today and they have yet to show more than one emotion in these past two decades, and they profit off of it because they're absolutely gorgeous.
At the end of the day, whatever makes money is what people will go for.
I couldn't stand him in True Beauty or My ID is Gangnam Beauty. His acting was very mediocre. The FL in My ID is Gangnam Beauty wasn't that great herself, so he had at least something going on with her, but when acting alongside very talented and experienced actors like in True Beauty, his inexperience shows. My only hope is that he's paired up with someone on his level of acting in this drama.
PS: I love him in Master in the House and in ASTRO, so NO I don't hate him personally, I just don't like his acting. I even follow him on Instagram.

He’s one of my favorites, if not my most favorite, Chinese actor. At such a young age, he’s doing what a lot of “experienced” actors can’t do. Portraying emotions well and not looking like he’s forcing it. He’s playing a cold character, yet he gets across that he’s deeply in love with Niaoniao with his facial expressions.
