"So for a while now I've been seeing a lot of hate for the show Born Again and I've failed to understand why." Are you sure you've failed to understand why or that you're refusing to see why?
"Ms. Sa Bin with her bones loving attitude, she is crazy in the most adorable way and I'm all for it!" That's far from adorable but who am I to judge you for that? I think it's crazy that she thinks every remain should be loved and understood. If you care so much about the dead, why not start with living human beings?
"I also love her unconditional love and support towards Jong Bom which he was lacking all his life!" I don't mind her loving and supporting Jung Bom, just not coddling and excusing his behaviors.
"But the fact remains that Jong Bom is a psychopath (to some degree) and can barely distinguish between what is right and wrong. He needs psychological help!" Wrong. Psychopaths have normal understanding of right and wrong, but abnormal regulation of morally appropriate behavior, hence his stalking behavior. So to some degree, Jung Bom does know what he's doing. And you said it, he needs psychological help, not romance masquerading help.
"But she also knows his circumstances and upbringing (which is maybe why she doesn't go to the police) and so she berates him and then suggests alternatives which Jong bum learns! He improves guys!! How does no one see that??!!" The real question is, did you see what you just said? She DID NOT go to the police KNOWING he was planning to kill someone and instead BERATED him like he was a misbehaving child. Ji Chul's consciousness is taking over now, while Jung Bom is repressed, I wonder how is this seen as improvement.
"I hate the victim blaming that is constantly happening with Sa Bin and which honestly many female leads are subjected to. It's despecible how the entire community is ready to throw her into fire for 'helping' her stalker." Ugh, she practically throws herself into the situation and I think you're confusing that with victim blaming. I'm not throwing her into the fire for helping her stalker, I'm throwing her into the fire for thinking she's doing the right thing when she has crossed so many boundaries, essentially easing her guilty conscience perhaps for getting Jung Bom shot in the head, but she is actually making it worst for Ji Chul/Jung Bom to realize his wrongdoings.
"What they don't understand is what she sees. A boy who is mentally not stable, not there completely. She knows he needs guidance and he needs someone to teach him about right and wrong." Correct, he's mentally unstable and she's his college professor, not his psychiatrist, she doesn't have the right kind of help he needs. The only thing she's doing right now is dangling his love for her to prevent him from killing. How does that help? What if she dies one day? He literally loses his reason to not kill.
"Understand this.. Jong bum is a cry for help! And the only one who answers his cry in BOTH his lives is Sa Bin!" Again, who is Sa Bin? Is she god? Jung Bom needs help, but definitely not from Sa Bin.
"As for the prosecutor Soo Hyuk.. hmm I find him to be ethically skewed.. he is too quick to suspicion and is biased in some areas (especially when it comes to the female lead) which has lead to bad judgment in both his lives." Except for the first part where he tried to convict the guy using Hyung Bin's corpse because he refuses to let a criminal let loose knowing fully well he killed all those women, Soo Hyuk hasn't been ethically skewed. He investigates his cases thoroughly and he had EVIDENCE and MOTIVE suggesting Jung Bom is a suspect, setting aside his protectiveness over Sa Bin, he has been DOING HIS JOB.
"As for the ship.. hmm I'm crazy about Sa Bin and Jong Bom getting together. But I just hope no one dies. The three need their happy ending in this life at least!" WHO IN THE HELL CARES ABOUT SHIP NOW WHEN JUSTICE ISN'T SERVED?!
Okay, hear me out guys. I absolutely LOVE Jong Bum's character. I think he is very complex and interesting as…
THIS! At this point, I don't freakin care who Sa Bin really likes, I'm just completely and utterly disgusted that everything Ji Chul/Jung Bom did get sweep under the rug because he has a mental illness and tragic background story. And who does Sa Bin think she is that she should be coddling Jung Bom in order to HELP him? Hello? Are you a psychiatrist? Are you his mother? Are you GOD?! Even Soo Hyuk has to answer to his action for shooting Jung Bom, why is Jung Bom getting free passes from everyone when: 1. He watched his brother drowning and did nothing until prodded. 2. He instigated someone to murder Soo Hyuk because he was JEALOUS, he did regret it but only because Sa Bin was the one who almost got killed. 3. He tried to kill Sang Ah by luring her into an abandoned building. In all these attempted murders, he did not show remorse or even think about taking action for his responsibility. And don't even get me started on Ji Chul. Why the fork is these 2 characters romanticized so freakin shamelessly, it's sending the wrong message to viewers! And how dare they try to sell a freakin romantic reincarnation story about lovers that transcends time and soul connected, when the girl is clearly messed up in the head. By now, I'm wondering if Sa Bin is the one with the bullet in her head.
I heard that because of Covid-19 outbreak, Leo is isolated and couldn't go to Beijing for dubbing. That's why. The…
Not sure if many people can make the connection. I couldn't place where I heard his voice before, thought it was just a little too deep for Leo, and my sister was like, "Duh, that's Ye Hua."
Ugh, same. His tears got to me too. But I think the thing is with Tou is that he never does ambiguity, which is…
They totally did, not only un-douched them but completely reformed their characters! I did some reading online regarding the book and I'll post the book spoilers and some C-netizens reviews on the discussion section when I got the time. The book turns out to be a total joke. I wonder why they wanted to adapt it in the first place.
IKR! For me, it probably stirs up all the memories I have of Luo Yunxi in his other dramas - he's always dealt…
Ugh, I knew it. I didn't try watching it after Ashes of Love because I know he's not the main lead. Also, didn't really get hooked on the trailer so I didn't bother. But I might some day, after I see Leo get enough love everywhere else.

The story must be similar to The Flame's Daughter, where 3 guys are pining for the same girl, love square is a drag lol. I'd love to see an angsty Leo but I'm not sure my heart can take it if he's mistreated or suffering too much. I was crushed when he mourned over his dead mother in Ashes of Love, literally in sobbing mess with Run Yu.

How much screentime does he have on that? I don't wanna spend too much energy trying to look for him in 50 something episodes of a drama. I might check that out after this is done. I need to ship a couple one at a time, lol.
Nope, I think that plot is weak and overused, I'm glad they kept it short. But I suspect keeping his father's…
Really? I never noticed about the subs, but that might be because I understand Chinese so sometimes subs is irrelevant. I do appreciate that Chinese dramas has Chinese subs because sometimes I don't even know what they're talking about, lol.

I think he's a very well diversed actor to carry any type of emotion but I love him in angst, he's very good at tugging heartstrings. But I'd never say no to Leo with lots of romance and cheesy lines. I'm enjoying him a lot in this, especially the way he looks at the female lead. I'm more into costume/wuxia/xianxia dramas, so I'm not really as excited for his modern roles as I am with this. But I can't wait to see more of him!
I thought she's pretty decent as an actress actually. I can see what you mean by not seeing her as a leading lady…
I thought I'm the odd one out for not liking Yang Zi, I've only seen her in 2 dramas and I find myself a little turned off by her, especially her voice, she sounds a little yappy? I couldn't focus or enjoy the main couple in Ashes of Love because of her, so I turned my focus on Night Immortal instead because he was practically stealing the show!

Just found out the voice actor is Bian Jiang. I'm having a whiplash every time I hear the dubbing voice because it's Ye Hua's voice romancing another woman, lol.

Oh, that makes sense. I did hear that Xue Zhi was crushing on Qing Mei in the book, though that's kind of immature of her. That's exactly the kind of character I hate to see on dramaland where a girl is prejudiced against another girl simply because they like the same guy, or the guy is in love with the other girl.
Honestly I was a bit turned off by the novel when I read the spoiler but I'm willing to give the writer the benefit of the doubt considering the ending is happy-ish. Maybe there's a deeper misunderstanding that leads to Tou marrying Feng Zi, same as the drama where it seems Tou will change his identity after falling off the cliff and refusing to acknowledge Xue Zhi. Crossing my fingers they don't drive me mad in the novel.
I can't get enough of them too! I have it so bad that I have the trailer on loop in Youtube because I wanna keep hearing their sad dialogues and the ost, LOL. Idk which chapter the misunderstanding starts so I'm gonna try flipping through the pages tonight. But, according to a fellow viewer, chasingpolaris down here, they have a really messed up relationship in the novel and Tou treated Xue Zhi badly, full of angst and all.
