Because I read the book and there are only 5 episodes, I am a bit disappointed in this episode, there is so much…
hey, since you've read the books do you mind spoiling me about why rain seems to be the one leading sky into the situation with his ex? did someone deceive rain first? i kind of was hoping to find out what happens before i commit to watching the last ep.
i feel a bit shitty for thinking that way but like.. i get SUPER excited it's thursday, and then realise it's not about rain and phayu anymore, and my excitement diminished greatly 😅 it's still a pretty great drama though, i just can't seem to get into sky and pai's story as much.
Ep 5 was disappointing. The whole thing was backstory about the bandmate and his brother, none of which contributed…
also... it might be just me but having a tragic backstory does not give you a free ticket to being an asshole to everyone else, no? like i'm happy tsubasa wasn't actually a bully in high school but he was lowkey a bully (verbally) to his band mates up until now.
ngl this last ep felt both very short and very long at the same time for some reason (not in a good way). also - aren't shiny smile supposed to be semi-popular, there were literally 20 people at the 'concert', half of them friends and family. i know it's supposed to represent the decline in trust in the band over the scandal but no press would be interested in a band that gathers that little interest.
(don't get me wrong though, i still think this is a good drama - i will keep watching :) )
The only reason I picked this up is that I'd like to be exposed to more Japanese and dramas like that tend to be easy to understand and follow. However, there is something particularly... off about Kaneda - his character and/or the casting. I really don't like this type of dynamic where one character literally worships the other. It's low-key creepy..
not a big fan of the secondary couple but i'm super invested into the leads. i love this kind of dynamic! there's something about the stoic, straight-laced character x the playful, friendly one that always gets me.
that was the most perfect final episode ever i am in actual tears. i'm so sad this series is now over. what a journey. <3 i hope we see first and khao paired up again bc what they created here was ART!
Recently I started to think that Phayu wasn't really that good for Rain. I mean, it's nice that he tried to teach…
i think it depends on how you look at things and the values you instill in certain actions. i actually don't think sky and prapai's relationship as more balanced. in my books, prapai does a lot of things that are quite off-putting, especially to someone who has some sort of past relationship trauma. e.g., not taking no for an answer, showing up at someone's house uninvited, especially after being told to not do that, contacting someone non-stop (even changing numbers after getting blocked), saying stuff like "i can't contain myself, so i need to leave", etc. kinda.. not ok. ofc, it's all fiction, so whatever, but i def don't see this as more balanced.
random thoughts while watching ep 11: - somehow, rain and sky seemed like better friends in rain's story. now that we see sky's story, they seem more... idk... lukewarm. not really involved in each other's lives like what you'd expect from close friends. - 1/4th into the ep and i'm lowkey missing phayu and rain... not sure why but i'm def enjoying this story less. i somehow wish the stories ran in parallel, so we see both couples. - THAT KISS THO (the one pai was imagining) 🔥 - however, the actual first (but not really) kiss was underwhelming. kind of... was out of place. - i don't like it when pai says he needs to leave bc he "can't hold himself back". literally my least fav line a man can say. - NOT PAI ACTUALLY CLEANING THE BATHROOM lol - gonna give it to them that spicy scene was hot af and very well done! - rain is absolutely adorable at that end scene 😭
this seems to be getting better and better! i feel we'll see some further fallout in the following episode, especially since it seems they're giving us the "alcohol-induced memory loss" trope. also, jaeyoon doesn't seem to know much about hojoon yet (that he's the son of the chairman for example), so i think this might also be a conflict, depending on how it plays out. i'm looking forward to the final two eps. i'm def enjoying this more than i thought i would.
i'm rewatching this now and it's even better the second time around! as you know exactly what's happening, the misunderstanding is somehow funnier. such a sweet, pure drama. i love everything about it!
i stopped watching at ep 12 and based on the comments i think i will finally pull the plug and move it to my 'dropped'. maybe i can skim the last two eps if they're a happy ending but not sure if it's worth investing more of my time into watching this.
