the ex-wife i very much dislike. i can understand not wanting to have a child, but secretly aborting it is horrible. i'm pretty confident the marriage didn't end because he badly wanted the child, but the secrecy and lack of communication.

he seems pretty straight forward and communicative in the elevator scene. if she wasn't ready, that's completely normal. visiting her family to go behind his back to abort? clear lack of trust. and then also marrying their mutual friend? horrible taste in my mouth. i feel bad for the male lead, it must be hard to not wonder what was wrong/missing about him. none of the decisions she made was inherently wrong, but her lack of communication ruined what could have been a healthy ending of their relationship and not traumatized him.
