Marrying just for love is a recent thing, the purpose of marriage for millennia has been of practical concern like money and land (which means power). Marrying your kin offered some benefits like retaining power and royal lineage.

She is Wang Wook's sister and Wang So's wife. Yeah, they don't share the same mother and that's more than enough, we're talking about ancient royalty.

The timeline and characters (well, at least names and positions) are real, it is based on a true historical brackground, the king is King Taejo, founder of Goryeo in the 900s and his bunch of spoiled ki... erm, princes. I would highly recommend to look up, the history is astonishing, but absolutely do *not* do it if you don't want big spoilers. Dramatic events are bound to happen.
