Good show, enjoyed it but for people who want romance heavy shows, this is not it. Equal time was focused on both sisters. The male lead had a lot of screen time but the focus was never on him. One thing I found a little weird was that the male lead's only kiss scene was with the wrong sister (he thought it was Song). Good plot, story and liked the characters. Min did a good job playing a woman with serious mental health issues.
Characters -
Nueng - has serious psychological problems (show said it was BPD and antisocial) most likely from childhood trauma, this causes her to feel unloved, feel like people are taking things from her, makes her cause problems for everyone, and have a very bad sex addiction (like so bad she sets up a fake gang rape for fun and sleeps with 10 of her husband employees at once) Song - the perfect woman, she is kind, honest, and proper. Because she was raised by her aunt and uncle she feels like she has to do whatever anyone she loves wants her to do so they will continue to love and care for her. Ard - loves Song pretty much right away so even when he thinks she is a sex addict and a liar he still cares for her and wants to get her help. He is in a lot of scenes but the focus is never on him, he is more of a "support" for the plot points and characters. Yai - rich spoiled brat who feels unloved and blames Song for everything Sarn - fickle fickle fickle. Jumps from liking one girl to the next. Ying - the perfect husband, loves Nueng no matter what, but again was only used here or there as a plot device. Wish they had him end up with Neung but I get that he knew she had to heal herself before she could ever have a relationship (if she could ever have one). Top - pops up here and there as a plot device. Cares and loves for Nueng so could have been a good character but they made him a human trafficker, so he is trash. Noi and Wichai - have a couple of cute scenes every once in a while but not enough to really care about them. Aunt Dao - the perfect lady and a great mother Preeya - trash mother when she was younger but by the time the show takes place she is trying her best to be a good mom.
Also forgot to mention the description is horrible. The female lead does not seduce or mess with anyone's head, it's just that every guy who has ever seen her falls in love. She sometimes tries to be friends with them and sometimes tells them to piss off. A better description for her should be "black widow" because guys fall dead all around her. A guy tries to help her and dies, a guy dies on accident when trying to get her as a mistress, a guy basically kidnaps her and dies in a car accident, she marries a guy he dies that day, she marries another guy he dies during the wedding. Also, the female and male lead know each other for a long time before the sister dies (he doesn't try to get into her life as revenge) and the female lead was already 100% in love with him and he is clearly in love with her but just denying it since he thinks she is just obsessed with money and using guys. After the sister dies he decides to get revenge on her but since he is already in love with her it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
Gave this an 8. I seriously hated the female lead until she became an adult but after the time jump she was really likable. Mark's character was ok but not my favorite of his characters but I always love him in everything.
Giving this a 10 because I loved the leads and the 1st 14 or so episodes were amazing but man did they drag out the plot in the last few episodes. Could have easily ended around 15.
Love the female lead and really like the male lead. If the editing/writing had been a little better I probably would have given this a 10, but either the editors or writers skipped entire conversations and plot points and the audience was supposed to figure it out. A lot of times it felt like we were joining a scene in the middle of it. And there was a lot of jumping around with scenes that just didn't flow well. Another bad writing/editing was that the leads never fully talk to each other about everything. Like that she was the one sending him the texts, or that they each had secret photos of each other, or that she had no interest in any of the other guys just him, or that she basically agreed to marry the first guy because the male lead was pissing her off. But the biggest 1 was the entire thing with the sister, she basically said I was drugged and never saw your sister but it's my fault the guy left her for me, and please forgive me. Ummm what how is it your fault at all? I would have really liked more talk about that.
Just finished rewatching this for my 3rd time and ugghhh do I love this show so much. It's pretty much perfection and by far my favorite c-drama. Now I think I need to either read the novel or rewatch Boss & Me
This is my new favorite BL! It did have a few storylines/plot points I could have done without but I loved it so much I could overlook them. The couple is the cutest thing ever and they had sooo many adorable scenes. Plus I have never seen so much kissing in any show ever. Oh and I loved that 90% of the story was focused on the 2 leads, I've watched 100s of lakorns and never seen that before.
Love shows with 1 of the leads being famous. Love shows with 1 of the leads having a "superpower". So having a show that combined 2 of my favorite tropes was like catnip for me. Just wish they had more focus on each of those instead of so much focus on the action. This was a solid 8 for me but I went up with my rating because I loved the ML so much.
So I know people pretty much either love this show or find it to be meehhhh, I happen to 100% fall into the love category. I just finished rewatching the show for the 3rd time and it's for sure top 3 favorites for me. It has everything for me, great characters I love, story I love, fantasy elements and super romantic. I didnt even mind the separation at the end that normally drives me crazy because we got Joon Jae being super sweet saying he will keep remembering her, etc. etc. The only thing I wish they would have shown was everyone else remembering her somehow.
If the first 4 or 5 episodes had shown Gun and Anchan falling in love, splitting up, him getting together with the other girl and being framed and going to jail this story would have been so much better. Showing us a few clips of flashbacks of what happened just wasn't enough for me, I felt like we started in the middle of the story. Plus they could have easily cut out tons of the "filler" scenes with the bad guys etc and used that time to show use the beginning of the story that we missed. But besides that I loved Mark and thought Kimmy did a good job so I gave this a 7.
Is it a happy ending or not? Are they gonna meet and start over or just split up?
Oh they only split up for like part of an episode but there was about an episode of drama leading up to the split and about an episode after the split with drama. But the show has a very happy ending.
It would be cool if they gave us an epilogue like they did with My Love From Another Star. I mean I remember when the last episode aired a lot of people were upset it was left open but later that day or the next they gave us the epilogue showing they lived happily ever after... Here we know they live happily ever after because they showed them with old hands but I would have liked for them to show a time jump a few years into the future where they get her fake paperwork and she becomes queen and on the weekends they still go jumping around to other worlds (including visiting her friends and family). I mean to me its pretty clear that that will happen because he has to have children but I don't like it being left up to my imagination.
I absolutely loved these 2 together but I have 2 problems with the show (not enough to make me not love the show but enough to drop my rating to a 9)..1. Thien took too long to realize he also had feelings for muey And 2. Why the heck did muey decide to leave thien? Logically it makes zero sense. She was in love with the guy for like 10 years and he finally tells her he loves her (and shows her how much he loves her again and again) but because she is worried he is "settling" and he doesnt know enough about her she wants to divorce and move away? And he decides to let her because she saved his life and he wants better for her? It was clearly manufactured drama just to have the 2 split up and was not believable at all.
