And thatâs a good thing. Iâm so tired of K-dramas where the male lead is a total scumbag who completely ruins the female leadâs lifeâyet somehow she not only forgives him, but ends up acting like his sex slave.
YoonAâs popular, sure, but she has zero lead aura. Watch Mr. QueenâShin Hye-sun owns every scene. A real lead makes you stare; YoonA just blends in.
YoonA gives off total support-role vibes, while her friend Yoon Seo Ah actually looks lead-worthy. Honestly, if they swapped roles, the drama would be a million times better.
Also age gap will be perfect for Yoon Seo Ah and the king.
Dropped after 10 episodes. Asked ChatGPT what the ending was, and the worst became true.
People donât change.
Seo Gang-ju â a scumbag who doesnât deserve Lee Da-rim, her sister, or anyone with common sense. I wish heâd been kicked out of his family and forced to work as a fast-food seller. The dumb writers paired the scumbag with her.
Can anyone who has seen the Korean version let me know how similar it is in plot and vibe? I personally didn't…
The Korean version of Marry My Husband (2024) is vibrant, funny, and dramatic, with over-the-top entrances and stylish flair. In contrast, the Japanese adaptation takes a more grounded approachârealistic, muted, and seriousâwhere emotions and key moments are portrayed with subtlety.
However, some impactful scenes feel toned down or overly realistic in the Japanese version. For example, in the Korean version, the reunion scene is elevated by the FLâs stunning outfit and glamorous stylingâshe looked like a K-pop star (in the Japanese version, the FL looked like an ordinary person, wearing a simple cute dress and a generic hairstyle). A key moment involved a luxury earring: the FL's toxic friend tried to sabotage her by giving her a cheap fake, but thanks to the FLâs good friend, she ended up wearing the original luxury pair. This led to the bad friend being embarrassed for using the fake herself. That entire sequence was bold, stylish, and satisfyingâa highlight that felt much more diluted in the Japanese version (in japan version they didn't include earing thing).
One of the biggest improvements is the shorter lengthâjust 10 episodes. K-dramas often stretch to 16 episodes, which can lead to filler content. The tighter pacing here helps the story stay focused.
However, in the first two episodes, the antagonists arenât as entertaining or over-the-top as in the Korean version. In my opinion, the dramatic and often comically evil antagonists in the K-drama added a lot of personality and elevated the whole show.
sorry to say but it is not as interesting as in korean version. Kdrama was fun, bright and had its moments to the peak hilarious. Here all the moments are bleak.
2/10 - for wardrobe of Baek Ma Ri and her mom.
Also age gap will be perfect for Yoon Seo Ah and the king.
FL is A level, drama is C level (dumpfire)
tldr I don't ship them. Imo FL should date her friend not this robot-human

The moment with reunion was so dull compared to kdrama...
