I was rewatching this and wow, how much I want to kill Jin Ah's mother. She is like a psychological warfare on a nuclear level. She ranks first in my most hated list and then comes Cha Soo Yeon's mother from Encounter just a notch below. Both of them drain my soul whenever they appear on screen. Oh! how I would love to have a conversation with these two.
Last 5 eps for me. Had a pile of tissues, my shirt was wet š gonna have puffy eyes for sure tmr
Same here. The wedding scene really got to meāI cried so much more during that and Chenyingās death than when Duan Xu died, and Iām not even sure why. I absolutely loved this drama.
I was hesitant to start this because of the comments about infidelity, but Iām glad I didāI really enjoyed it. If the cheating makes you wary, donāt be. Considering the struggles she went through, itās a relief she found someone to share her time with. In such a dark place, finding a connection can feel like a blessing. Their marriage had been falling apart long before the mutual infidelity, and they had already fallen out of love. If you liked One Spring Night, youāll likely enjoy this too. I usually hate storylines that justify cheating, but this one is mild compared to many others Iāve seen. If you want to see real cheating drama, watch Fishbowl Wivesāyouāll probably wish you hadnāt seen that one. On the other hand, the story here is well-developed. Recommended.
In my opinion, the drama handled episode 31 better than the novel. The novel felt a bit disjointed at this point, though the drama was good overall. However, Iām still disappointed with the scene where Duan Xuās sister discovers He Simu, as the novelās version of that moment was absolutely hilarious.
Yan Ke's obsession is ultimate power and authority. You can deduce the rest from here.
In the novel Yan Ke is the villain of the spirit world and his obsession is the throne and He Simu. Anything more than that, I'll have to divulge the entire plot here. And the drama team can even tweak the storyline too, so no need to ruin the fun.
This was such a great run, and Iāll definitely miss it in the coming week. If anyone is wondering whether to binge it, Iād say go for itābut watch with patience and avoid skipping scenes. Itās truly a wonderfully healing drama.
After Arthur's period drama, this is the best one I've seen this year. I'm not usually drawn to period dramas since I can't really relate to them, but this one was a fantastic watch. Highly recommend it to everyone.
