In my opinion its true coz did you see the surprise(confession scene) yesterday?!
So this is kinda a spoiler but they had their last formal livestream yesterday and at the end of that Ollie surprised Shu yuan with a decorated room like it happens in one of the later episodes, but this time there were petals on the bed, some framed photos and a letter for him..which made him cry so much that they had to end the live. So we're all guessing what it really was about. Might have been something bigger we don't know of.

finally it ended & though the ending wasnt much polished but it was a good closure for me...its a good one…
Its shown that way purposefully, so the audience can speculate on what is the actual ending and who are the real characters.

Seeing the comments its really a pity that the writers failed to transfer it on the screen in an easy understandable…
I think by now its clear that they did this purposefully. Instead of showing one fixed 'happy' ending, they chose to go with that route so that more people can come up with theories about what is the actual the ending.

Its the real Fang Chi and Gao Zhun
Their friend Tong zhi wrote it, watch the end credits again, there Gao tells Fang about Zhen and Zhang and how he sees them. So its implied that they are the ones who are actually real and everything we've been watching is actually the novel that they were reading. Its based on their real life story.

To me it feels like these characters mirror each other so they are played by the same actors irl- Ollie and shu yuan. And it leaves more upto interpretation of the audience, so we can have our own theories about what is the actual ending for this series. It was done differently in the novel.
