Omg same! I couldn't help thinking of Deep In whenever they showed the scenes within the series! Tbh its not a fair comparison since they both have different premises even tho they're set in the entertainment industry, and I do think here there will be a more immersive effect later on compared to what we saw in ep 2 coz those scenes from the series wasn't the actual filming but just what it'd look like once it was finished. The story in the series is not as important to the plot as what's happening outside of it, so its less focused upon. You could say this has a bit of both Deep In and Payback, and a story to tell of its own.
