Its that way in the novel so they went with that. I wish they'd shown what they actually did in that time, like maybe Zhang's conversation with his gf or why he was living away and how they were dealing with the separation etc, but then again some people here think that the director did this deliberately to show that they were the fake characters, so their story feels more 'novel' like and ends with a bang- unlike that of the doctor-therapist for whom its more of a domestic, calm and peaceful ending.

Yeah they should've expanded Zz and ZX's story a bit more. But did you see the end end credits? I think some people said that since its meant to actually be a novel and ZZ and ZX aren't real, so that eight month skip was randomly done. Like it happens in a novel. If they were real characters what they went through during that time period would be more focused on

I think they should have shown more of that relationship in the finale, and the resolution of Zhang's relationship with his gf. Shu yuan has difficulty expressing his emotions, but somehow he did better with Gao Zhun than he did with Zhang. Maybe it's coz he couldn't exactly capture the kind of feelings Zhang Zhun has throughout all his scenes. They do explain how they did it in the live so I'll have to watch that to understand better.

I was understood that. But the way Jay took his revenge felt too quick and rushed, not as satisfying as it was in the manhwa/novel, and apart from that there are also many other things which they could have improved or included to make this series more coherent. Anyways fair criticism should always be done if we don't agree with some stuff, instead of only singing the praises so that's what I'm doing here.

Bruh this just tells me that you haven't seen the bts. They were literally crying and had a hard time getting out of character in certain parts. Its their first role ever so ofc it won't be the best acting you've ever seen but they tried their best. Portraying a character within a character within a character is extremely difficult for rookie actors to deliver but you'll find a large no. of people praising their acting, which means that they must have done some really good work even if not the best. In the earlier episodes I felt like one of them had a wooden face delivery, but by the end even he improved and it was visible, looked more smooth and natural.

Idk if they included all the best parts? To each their opinion. It was good but it could've been better. And the ending was rushed. They could have still properly paced it considering the 10 episodes. Also I know it depends on the enjoyability factor, even if you don't like some things you'd still rate it higher based on that. This wasn't a 10 for me for that exact reason- I couldn't enjoy it as much as others. If there are too many stuff like why some characters did what they did, corny jokes, and lazy writing, it automatically makes me cringe and takes away the enjoyment- and this one seemed to have moments like that

Exactly. I never understood how Jay fell for him, he was forceful from the start and I was confused about whether they truly loved each other? Even without this there were a lot of things that kept me from enjoying this series fully.

Lol. The plot is about these two characters and their story. Its not something super complicated or intricate and that's fine, better than introducing something huge and failing to deliver. I saw you liked a lot of cdramas like Ashes to Crown, which had a large no of plot holes. In my opinion I'd rather rewatch this than whatever that thing was.

It is justifiable in my opinion. This is after all a BL and the characters are not your typical green flags, but then no one in reality is that perfect. The girlfriends are barely there in their lives, but some people can still dislike it since they do a lot of stuff before they officially break up with their gfs.

In the earlier episodes they do method acting, which means doing a lot of stuff together even tho they have girfriends. These gfs are barely in the picture, and only make an appearance in like 2 episodes at the end. One of them was in a situationship kinda thing, so more transactional, but the other's relationship was more serious.
