Some of the things they show and talk about, I've never seen talked about before in a show or series, especially a chinese one. Its refreshing but dark at the same time, the things they deal with and the situation they're in. Speaking of the real actors themselves, Ollie and Shu yuan, I honestly never expected them to act so well, considering their age and that this is their first performance in a series. Sometimes it felt like shu yuan had a wooden face and some stiff moments, but his delivery of Gao Zhun in ep 6 when he's reliving his trauma, was done so well I was shocked! Its only a handful of times that I've seen rookies nail their roles and this is one of those! Ollie is talented as well, and stays pretty consistent in both his roles as FC and ZX. The casting is perfect.

The misunderstandings are always there and played up to the extreme, it has ruined a lot of dramas and other media for me but in this case its just stupid. They just don't want to have an honest conversation about what really matters to them and what's really going on, then later the resentment builds up and reaches a breaking point. Gets resolved after 10 years. Starts all over again. Rinse and repeat.

This episode reminded me of the trope that I hate the most- the MC who can't stand up for themselves, and are looked down upon by every single person and thing that interacts with them. Maybe it's due to some personal experiences, but this rubs me off the wrong way and takes the enjoyment out of a series for me. Constantly watching these people going off at and humiliating them in some way or other, only to get their due in like the last episode and in a way that's not at all satisfying- is way too common in dramas and triggers me in the worst ways. Idk why I never expected this drama to take the same direction when it had the perfect setup for that.

Same. Everyone keeps saying he'll turn around and get his revenge but I just can't keep painstakingly watching through every episode to wait for that one moment. Guess I'll give this a shot again after its completed. But yeah watching this weekly would be a torture I won't subject myself to.

I think the actor Zhen Xin gets to play Dr Fang since he's the famous one but at the same time he's a lot younger than ZZ so according to the novel that's how they should look ig

Yeah. The drama inside the drama is a story of its own and its important to the main plot. It also covers a major portion of the episodes, and shows how the actors are so 'deep in' their roles that they can't draw the line between themselves and the characters they are playing.

I think it was just to reassure him that Gao doesn't know that he's also his therapist. This might have another meaning in the later eps who knows..

They also met before in his chamber which was shown in the flashback in ep 6. I think it was ep 1 or 2

That's the point..Fang Chi is a morally grey character at best and at his worst he's something else. Still they toned him down a lot in the show, some of the stuff he said and did in the novel was disgusting. I'm currently okay with how they're going with this and really hope they won't have him do those things in the next episodes

Justin, the one in Gao's office who's harrassed him before. He's also Dr Fang's patient.

Yeah but unfortunately the people who know nothing about that have rated it 1/10 precisely coz of all these things not being included in the series, making it seem 'unrealistic'.

Idc about realism or how much of it is realistic. The story reveals itself in parts and ofc its not even halfway through so some of the characters and their actions are questionable. If I had to go for a series or movie entirely based off of that then I'd not have watched half of the ones listed here and would've missed out. Anyways even then the actors, without much acting experience, have given pretty great performances, and are so fun to watch. In some places it feels like Ollie's acting better than Shu yuan but that's just me ig
