Just finished the first story arc (episodes 1-4) on iQiyi. Some thoughts:The good:1. Solid story. A few plot holes…
If you want a Chinese suspense drama set outside of China where the actors use 'foreign' accents, try Original Sin. It's set in a 'fictional country' but everyone knows it's either Singapore or Malaysia.
And yeah, I thought I was the only one who noticed these beads were just lame :D I've seen worse stuff ofc but I still giggled when they appeared on my screen.
A word of clarification: not all NK movies and dramas are filled with propaganda.
I never said it's because of propaganda (I don't mind propaganda movies). I don't know much about North Korea and I don't think I'll be able to enjoy watching NK productions without proper research.
Seonsaeng wrote an article about North Korea? What a surprise:D Great read but I'm not sure if I'll ever watch anything made in NK... not sure if I even want to.
Earthquake featured in this drama was based on real Beichuan Earthquake that hit Sichuan Province in 2008 (almost 100 000 people lost their lives, and 80% buildings in the area were destroyed, including schools and hospitals). Using real tragedy as romcom cliche? Not cool, drama writers, not cool.

Not sure if screenwriting was at fault or her acting, but I can't, just CAN'T watch anything with her ever since
Why, oh why!
