same. i felt like his family not approving of her is not the only reason why she broke up with him (yang hua's mom also does not approve of her and she doesn't give af lol). but her ex is such a creep (surveilling outside her apartment at night, roughly grabbing her without her consent).
after watching the OST videos, i think what happens next is that qin shi will get the partner job, moving up the elevator to the 11th floor (saw scenes of her working with older men) only to realize they mistreat women like crazy (it looks like they make her do secretary/assistant work around the office??) then eventually leaves cheng & hui (much to the support of yang hua--he pointed out they mistreated women before). she then joins forces with li dai and other women to open their own practice(?). no matter what the details will be I think in the coming journey, her values will shift more and be more compatible with yang hua's. also i noticed she moves yang hua's mint plant to her new office. wonder what this means for their relationship.
