This was boring, frustrating and kind of uninspired. Mek was an asshole. Kim was okay, if a little too uptight.…
I'm feeling about the same. But I don't think I have a patience to continue this, especially after watching the preview. If it gets noticably better, please lmk π
The girls were funny and nice. Loved the relationship between Kim and his sister (Dao, I think?). Especially the part where Dao makes Kim cook a dinner. The brother-sister nagging between Mek and his sister (Q?) was okay, too. Though more generic.
Second couple was really adorable in that one scene they had. Easily the best part of this show.
Third couple started off not ideally, but I could see them working out in the end.
Mek is trash. Literally. I can't say it in nicer way. It's been some time since I hated a main lead more. Even CP's Lian was more entertaining and likeable at times. The fact he shows no remorse for his actions is honestly really repulsive to me. There's only one good thing I can say about him, and it's not related to anything from inside the show. His hair is fine. Good, even. I don't have the strength to argue with anyone now, but the BL world must really love their stereotypes if the hair is even an issue.
Plot doesn't make sense. It's trying to be funny, but it's not (to me). It might have all been done before, and almost always better than here. Frankly, I was confused. Angry. Embarassed. And also bored. The fake BL at the start looked more interesting than what we got in episode 1.
So the big personal question. Will I be here for episode 2? Most likely, no. The preview showed no signs of the drama getting better. Quite the opposite. I might come back later on if the reception is good. Maybe binge it if I'm too curious. But this ain't it.
Ok, this went to the cringe territory real fast π€£
Or not? That girl is rotten π But like... hard same π₯°
I DON'T DESERVE TO BE CALLED OUT LIKE THAT!!!
Not me googling Thunderous Sky, expecting it to be rl BL π
The last one's gonna be our "Secret Love", isn't he?
Or is it brother Tim? Oh, the suspense!
Why am I being sold these fictional shows/videos? It has this awful product placement vibe.
I'm getting whiplash π
How many couples are in this? And do they all need to be introduced in first part?
The chancellor has too much energy π
Oof. So it's enemies-to-lovers now?
[brb, gotta read the plot summary]
[So, this doesn't seem interesting much if I'm being frank. Also, the side couples situation will probably be messy. Imma finish the episode and then decide whether I'll come back]
Yeah, this is trashy. I already hate the mains.
This side couple is interesting, though! And (presumably) already established, so it shouldn't be as messy. Might watch it purely for them π
Kyaaaa! So cute. And smooth. Why are you doing this to me? I don't wanna get stuck in another underhelming show just for sidelined couple crumbs πππ
Stop spoiling it, Y girl!
These MLs just love to set off flags... π
The humor/drama is kinda lame. I might have to sacrifice my adorable OTP to save my sanity.
Not funny. Actually an awful think to do. That's how I feel about this drama.
I'll pray to Gods from all religions that someone makes a fan cut of the second pairing.
What an A-hole!!
They're literally faking SOTUS. That's a new low.
Third couple is about as alluring as the first one. Precisely, not at all.
Why is he STILL shooting?! Is he simple-minded? π
3rd couple might still be redeemable. Might.
Dao. Like the star. Is this an omen? β
I need to know what the purple drink is. In detail. So I can add it to my bucket list. #PinkMilk #GuavaJuice #VioletNectar
And they left it online π
Those two guys share one, oxygen-deprived braincell. I feel sorry for their friend from couple 2.
"It's 2022 now and you still did something like this? Are you nuts!?" THANK YOU, @lovemelo!!! Exactly my feelings about this BL BS!
Why should Kimhan be held responsible for it? He's not involved, in any way! You disappointed me, chancellor.
Lame. I don't even know why I expect anything but.
So are they suspended, or no?
*googling "Allez Cuisine" * So it's a random Iron Chef reference for starting a battle?
The main loves cooking. I should go have a dinner. Maybe it will make me less grumpy. But it's almost the end, so...
He stole the replacement flower?! I swear I'm not a moral police, but this guy is trash. I want the protagonist to be with someone better π€
Thank you for such a detailed and useful preview π₯°
I'm so done with My Secret Love The Series. Someone DM me ifwhen the Lee+Park cut is made. (/j, unless...) π
I agree with you on principle. The overdramatic way of doing things is pretty standard for japanese "live action"…
Yes!! I NEED an answer to that, too πππ
If they don't address it, it's gonna be such a shame. But there's meant to be a manga source material, so maybe I'll read that one afterwards to try and get a better picture π
As much as I want to fully love the whole show, I canβt help but feel affected by the overdramatic acting of…
I agree with you on principle. The overdramatic way of doing things is pretty standard for japanese "live action" dramas based on manga/anime. But with fluffy plot like this, I don't really mind it π
One remark :
"I canβt identify how he initiated the kiss during the first episode."
This one can be partially blamed on the subtitles. The phrase Kota uses during his confession scene ("tsukiatte hoshii na") has a meaning along the lines: "I was hoping we could go out" or "I wish we could date". Google literally translates it into : "I want you to go out with me".
The original subs on Viki said the same thing as google translate when the first episode released. Soon after, they've changed it to "I was hoping we could stay together always", which is more ambiguous. Not sure what subs Gagaoolala had on release, now it's "I hope you'll be with me forever". So, also kinda unlear. For episode 3, they change the translation to: "I hope we could be good friends.", which is even worse and basically puts all the blame on Naoya. They go with this translation in episode 5, too. IrozukuSubs consistently translates it as: "I want you to go out with me".
Combine the original translation with the nervous (and cutesy) way Kota says it and you'll get a pretty standard anime love confession (also Kota showing so much interest in Naoya would send a message). So I can understand why Naoya thought Kota's confessing to him. As for why he kissed him already, your guess is as good as mine. Some people think Naoya was into Kota even before the confession. Maybe it's a cultural/manga/anime thing. Maybe it's just Naoya thing. Either way, I don't mind π
Instead of worrying about what other people say/think of the drama, you could try to present your feelings about the show in more coherent manner. It is, after all, what reviews of shows are mainly intended for π
As for your opinions:
"This typical mindset of sinkship of ZS fans."
Not everyone cares about shipping drama. Some of us watch the series for what's actually a part of the show, not actors' personal lives.
"When did a 7 years old become one a pedophilia when its an arrange marriage before you said something make sure you know the mean of the word."
"Make sure you know the mean of the word" "grooming". It's not the same as "arranged marriage", and it's also not the same as "pedophilia". But they aren't mutually exclusive, either.
"I never saw a single scene showing this bad views about Cutiepie."
Just because you don't see something, doesn't mean it's not there. Or that other people can't see it there.
"Plus when Kuea leave with Lian his 20 years old and 7 years age gap is not big gap. Age doesn't matter in love."
Age matters in overall dynamics of people. Especially if it creates an unbalanced setting for something that should be very much balanced, as is love and marriage.
"Ages 15 years old and above are allowed to make a sexual consent in Thailand. Yes, i knoe bcoz i read google information before i posted anything."
"Legal" doesn't always translate to "moral". But I will lead the morality of it for you to judge for yourself, as it's everyone's personal struggle.
"Lian got all the it takes to bring home Kuea to his home. Lian he asked permission to Kuea's mom. That's a sign of respect to Kuea's parents."
Yeah, no. If you want to live with another adult person, you first need THEIR consent. If you managed googling age of consent in Thailand, it shouldn't be too hard to google this, too.
"Kiss in the bar will are you even in legal age to watch this kind of series, ( boys love). I actual wondering have experience kissing someone in the bar when your out with friend. I did. It's normal part of teenage life. And if your adult i guess nothing bet the ONE night stand i guess well i know not all would agree but guys, are YOU born in the 1500 century. LOLS ????"
Kissing someone who's so drunk he doesn't even recognize you and is actively pushing you away is not "normal part of teenage life. " It's assault, plain and simple. EVEN LAW agrees with me on this one. And age doesn't matter in this case.
The rest of your review would be way easier to read if you dropped the "all caps". Ignoring the attempt to delegitimize opinions you don't agree with, the rest is purely your feelings. Which I would find better presented if they were actually supported by examples from the show, rather than screamed at me in the end. But they are your feelings.
And just a heads up. You wrote "10/10" at the end of the review, but only gave it overall score of 9.5. You might want to edit that for clarity purposeπ
Bro i seriously dont know what's wrong with these reviews. This series is actually pretty good ,the directing…
"...but i don't think most of the reviews actually understood the plot..."
I'm already so bored of this argument. Normally I ignore such comments and only reply once in a while, so don't take this too personally. It's more of a general PSA.
We're constantly alternating between "You just don't like fluff / cute romance stories at all.", "You don't understand it enough." (with "You haven't even read the book!" sprinkled on top occasionally), "You have some personal vendetta / ulterior motive," and the latest "You expect perfect from CP but are willing to overlook imperfect in other BLs."
I have a mega wild idea for all of you. Maybe, we just... DON'T LIKE IT?! Based on whatever they show in the drama. It doesn't have to be universally liked. It doesn't take anything from your enjoyment even if someone hates CP, for whatever reason. The whole purpose of discussion and reviews is to have multiple points of view on the same subject. In this case, Cutie Pie. You're free to try it or not. You're free to like it or not. Don't take any single opinion on CP as the absolute truth. Ignoring some of us have been explaining ourselves to death the whole time, it doesn't matter. We just don't like it and that's it π
I personally think it's a waste of time. However, I also think you should decide that for yourself, armed with…
And you say I'm generous!!! π
You're actually telling them to try it, while I would lean to something along the lines "Watch youtube edits of whatever seems worth it to you, but 12 hours of CP is kinda overdoing it."
"I disagree about the relative merits of the NC scenes, but that's normal."
That question mark is there for a reason π But people that like CP praise the "chemistry" and "believable love making", so I'm giving them a benefit of doubt (for those who can ignore the "no plot" and "disturbing dynamics").
This episode would have started so much better if they just left out Phoon. And Gia. And Fah. Honestly, why is there anyone else besides Khluen and Nuea? I came here for fluff!
18 days?! When?
It (making Dao cry) will most likely happen again, and often. That boy's hella emotional.
Fah's acting weird. But whatever. We've already given up on characters' consistencies.
Just like that! Continue π₯°
Sorry, Dunk, but you can't act out this weird pouty/joking boyfriend. That's Bas's thing.
55555! SO TRUE, but also very hilarious π€£ I could never π
Kim was fine, albeit a little stuck up.

I'm considering taking a break from thai BLs altogether (Triage excluded). Looks like we've gotten to stage when thai producers think everything will go as long as you have 2 guys being affectionate with each other. And I'm tired of it. I'm dreading future when I might miss EnchantΓ©, but that's where we are apparently heading π
