I have a feeling that some of the commenters here already have enough material to publish a book called "Why I…
I might just publish my comments verbatim, without any context other than date and time of posting. [If you want me to black out your names, no luck there]
But Mandee would have to pay me for the exposure first π
But at the same time, Netflix has a reputation of cancelling show even if they are extremely popular -- many of…
Could they cancel it even if it isn't Netflix original? I'm not really knowledgeable in this. But I think the worst they could do is end the contract with Be On Cloud (which might very well kill it if the studio grows dependent on Netflix cut).
Miracle of teddy bear was on Netflix which no offense is shit in my opinion π€‘ but that's just my perspective
That might be because Miracle of teddy bear is more of a family drama? I think there is also a +13 version of it, but the mature version isn't really graphic, either. It's also very different in tone and mainly focuses on psychological stuff like grief. So they might think there's a bigger audience for it compared to something like KP. I also don't know if the uncensored version of KP fits their content ratings.
Not that it really matters to me, since BLs tend to be regionlocked outside of my country on Netflix. But I guess it will bring them more views/popularity π
I'd prefer it to be a balancing of luck as well.Sometimes it's nice to have the fluff ultimate green flags in…
"Yeah, I noticed they translated the first names when the last names are always being used and I was like ??? Since switching to first name basis is a big step normally. I got over it though. Was a bit weird at first for sure."
Now that you mention it, it's really odd that they call each other by their first names, especially so early on!! Maybe there was just some technical mishap when it got switched up in the script? I honestly have no idea why it's this way, but it's still anoying to me (even though I know who they mean, I don't like the dissonance). But we're almost halfway done, so I guess I'll have to get used to it.
I don't like to call any series bad, since everyone has different taste.
I would say that most of the plot progression isn't in my opinion necessary and they just tried to make it as long as they could, without properly pacing it. So for me, it was mostly boring (I didn't like some other stuff, too, but that would be spoilery).
If you're really interested in it and have nothing better to start, it's fine. But I wouldn't call it memorable. It felt mostly bland to me, both the story and visuals.
imma just watch syn & nuer moments after this ends
I hope someone will make an unofficial cut of their scenes, since I highly doubt Mandee will. Then I will have a better idea just how sidelined they were (my conservative estimate is under two hours for all at least slightly important scenes combined).
I don't care if there's no plot in it. You watch these emotional gems with your heart, not your brain. So please, whoever wrote this. Don't hurt me with a "stealing his luck" penultimate episode syndrome breakdown πππ I'm already getting teary-eyed just thinking about it πππ
Shinomiya is so. freaking. perfect. Like no kidding he isn't real! Hate you for yet again raising my expectations. No biggie, I'm just gonna stay alone for the rest of my life π
The subtitles should switch to first names already. It's hella confusing. And a 5-minute fix. Why did the translators even do that? Please. Make it consistent with the audio. I thought that would have been the obvious choice right from the start.
***EDIT about my war on subtitles: They changed the translation from the end of episode 1!!! The "let's go out!" line π±π±π± A sole reason why our main leads started dating!!!!
Now it says "stay together" in episode 1 (during the confession scene), and "I hope we could be good friends" in episode 3 (timestamp ~17:45, in flashback during the lecture).
It totally shifts the blame from Fukuhara over to Shinomiya! Don't you dare do my ideal fictious boyfriend material dirty like that! π‘π‘π‘
They both use the verb tsukiau, which roughly translates to "date". It can also be used in context of socializing without any romantic feelings, as in "accompany" or "hang out". But the way Fukuhara uses it ("tsukiatte hoshii na"), it very much resembles a shy person confessing to someone (along the lines "I was hoping we could go out" or "I wish we could date". Google translate says: "I want you to go out with me"). {I naturally googled all of this, since my only exposure to japanese is anime/music/drama. Each time I heard it used in a drama, it meant a love conffession. Usually the shorter, more harsh "tsukia" is used by guys when no romantic feelings are involved [unless your boyfriend is a bad boy/tsundere. In that case, tsukia is as cute as you can get π]}
So my question, Kiss me Luck team @Viki.com, is. What are you so scared of?! π¨
Also, stop changing it for each episode, you cowards!! It must be confusing as hell for someone else, too. ***
For people trying to rationalize this good luck / bad luck situation away, I think you will have a better experience not thinking too much about it (unless you enjoy analyzing it. In that case, more power to you π) . Japanese live-action is often very dramatic and nonsensical, especially when it's based on BL manga. So there most likely isn't some clear system to it π
I really like the couple, but gosh would they be annoying if I were in the aquarium with them. Especially Fukuhara is so loud and energetic. Which I get is his whole fake persona for people to like him, but still. I don't want this to turn into another SCOY incident when I have to ax the volume each time they appear on screen!
Just in case it wasn't clear already, I want to state that this drama is very funny, nice to look at and just about the cutest thing I've ever watched. And that's all you really need to know π
I just read all their comments about KP on the CP comment section??? Bashing KP? Why talk about it there idk..…
They aren't bashing KP on CP comment section at all. They wouldn't even mention KP in my opinion, if someone didn't try to tell them they should drop CP the same way they dropped KP. So they just explained why they dropped KP and how it's different situation from CP .
I honestly didn't see them bashing KP, ever. On this comment section or any other π
Ok. So I've just seen the official trailer (long after finishing the drama) and it's pretty revealing!!
Like, they show you most of the major plot points in the trailer. This isn't a show I would consider plot-heavy, but still. If someone plans to watch this for a first time, I would avoid the trailer. You will like the show more that way in my opinion π
If you're giving it a chance, try to go past episode 2 since the first two parts had very different vibe for me. And be warned, it gets draggy more the further you get. But you may like it, especially for the visuals and fanservice π
But Mandee would have to pay me for the exposure first π
Shame on you, girl!! π‘ /j
Kaownah for that one song from TT.
Kirin for "Change", "Just Being Friendly" cover and "My Cutie Pie".
Supanut after finishing Oxygen.
I even had a Nanon phase right after Bad Buddy, but that one was (thankfully) shortlived.
As you can see, I'm easily influenced by BL music. Hell, I was even obsessed with "Ordinary Person" Cover by Wayo from 2moons1!
But this seems like such a basic, obvious mistake, you should notice it regardless of your language skills.
Which reminds me, I forgot they changed the main line!!! Gosh, gotta update my original comment π

Even if I get hit by a car repeatedly and forget everything else about CP, there's no chance I would forget you π
