Title We Are All Trying Here Spoiler
Here are some facts about Park Hae Young."As the chairperson of the copyright committee of the Korea Television…
1) I think it’s awesome that she an A list writer who is standing up for other writer and is part of the writers association.
But 2) you said she refused to work with “Netflix or Disney”, but this is a Netflix production? This show has the big N right at the beginning, or am I misunderstanding entirely your comment?

you are so lucky . my mister is 10/10 if you want something lighter its another miss ohh its like rom com. loughed…
@kdramamore + @akita + @tmoom + @carnotaurusEL - tysm for info on her other works. Only one I’ve seen was Another Miss Oh, which I saw a long time ago and adored!! So, I’ll have to start My Mister and My liberation - I had heard of both before those series ( as they both have great reviews) - but I never gave them a chance as the description sounded “too serious” to me and I thought it’d be too heavy to watch. But I’d honestly have to describe this drama as “serious” - but it isn’t heavy, it doesn’t weigh me down at all but lifts my spirit

Who would think that the line “tell me a funny story” would break me?
It is very rare for me to start crying at a show, my eyes might water a bit, buts that’s it - but I am half way through this episode andI started bawling - not from sadness but from happiness, relief. I had to stop the show and take a break before starting again.

You know something, this writer - I haven’t seen her other series, could they possibly be this good?
I am asking those who’ve seen more of her shows, are they all a this good?
Why I ask - they say if you’re going to write, write about something you know. This story is about writers who pour their souls into a script — this story is sooooo well written, it is so real - it feels like the writer poured her soul into it. And the actors are completely on board with bringing that to life! If her other stories are even half as good, I have to put them on my list!! 😊
It’s just not possible for other ones to be like this, right?

Yeah, maybe it is complicated for MDL to fix, that might be why they turn a blind eye hoping that after enough real users see the episode the fake acts impact on the ratings will fade …
But it seems like they could do something that wouldn’t be hard to code - like, only allow users with accounts more than three months old that have commented can rate dramas.
And interesting point you made about not being able to see who rated them, as you’re right: if we as users good go in and report those who rated those episodes with a 1 star when it hasn’t even been releases, maybe those users ability to rate dramas could be suspended.
It’s frustrating 🥺

Ep 1 to Ep 6 are all above 9. Ep 7 has only climbed to 7.5, but I’ll bet it keeps going up as more people who have seen it rate it.
The ridiculously low rating - Episode 8 until 12 - are ones that haven’t been released yet are the ones rated by trolls, and that why I was saying it’s obvious it was organized - I’ve noticed this happening more and more frequently to new dramas that are released.
I wish MDL didn’t allow people to rate dramas that they haven’t watched , but that might be complicated to code.

Ratings per episode went down to 6??? who is doing that?? There are definitely organized groups of trolls on MDL…
There are groups that tank a new drama out of the gate- the super low rating on episodes that hadn’t been release yet is proof of that.

It’s easier for them to hurt a drama with a one star then to pull up the drama they love with with a 10 star - so that’s what they do.
The people actually watching the drama seem to all love it, hence the very high ratings on the episodes that have already been released. It takes 9 - 10 star rating to bring up just 1 - 1 star rating.

the tie in between eun ah seeing the sign that NO ONE COMES INTO YOUR LIFE BY MISTAKE, to dongman's monologue…
You know what I always think of?
Vincent Van Gogh (arguably one of the most impactful artist to ever live) - was NOT appreciated by anyone during his lifetime time BUT he had Theo Van Gogh: who supported him and his art throughout his whole life.
We can survive so much and become so much, if we have someone who we can turn to and ask for help!! We don’t need everyone, we just need someone 💕🥰
And watching this show, it seems that both the ML and the FL now have someone they can ask for help - and you’re right “that’s okay!” 😉

ikr i agree with all things you said. For me this show will become the best of 2026. I was looking forward to…
It does - even though there are sad moments, even though I am both cheering for and worried for the ML and the FL - it is so healing ❤️‍🩹- “soothed my trepidation” - yes exactly this! 💕

Just wow, just wow, just wow 🤯
This show - and I am not exaggerating- if you are taking a film class and need something fresh to write about and analyze- THIS is it.
The above would also apply to if you were in a psychology course.
There is sooooooooo much going on in this story, so much meaning. The only difficulty you’d have in writing about it, well you probably have to limit yourself to ONE episode - and then maybe you’d even have to limit yourself to ONE scene.
Proof:
1) about 5 minutes in, it was soooo fun and lighthearted
2) about 13 minutes in, it was psychologically interesting - what is this side character’s really big ego getting themself into? Will this cause them trouble later.
3) about 26 minutes in, the start of a scene that had me laughing SOOOO hard, I actually had to pause the show - and chuckling got up to get a soda from the kitchen, continued laughing and amused, composed myself, and then was able to start the show again
4) 46 minutes in, the start of several minutes of just a very warm heartwarming time

There were other emotions to - furious with someone being petty and jealous and you just wanted to slap them - happiness and seeing someone there for someone who needed them.
Everyhting, this show has everything.

At this point, I just want to thank the actors, directors and writers. This series, if I stopped right now at this point - I would consider it one of the best pieces of cinematic delight - top 10 - I’ve scene in my lifetime. To the writer: I don’t think you will, as each episode keep getting better and better - - but even if if this goes on a path I don’t like, even if I hate the rest - if I met you I’d still want to hug you for this wonderful wonderful work. In my opinion: you can do no wrong at this point because you’ve already done so much - what you have written has profoundly moved me.

Everything else, all the episodes and anything else that I watch that you’ve created- it’s just frosting on top of the best desert after a perfectly healthy, delicious and balanced meal. This series is everything.

People hate competent women just in general. Her boss seems to feel threatened that people come to her and her…
I don’t think it’s lazy writing, it’s showing why she has the character strength that she does.
Notice - 1) although she is being bullied, she is not collapsing like a crumpled flower, she is standing up to the bullies. The strength she gets to do this is from her childhood - someone from a loving family would be shocked at that level of abuse and would just had in resignation + go back to their family for support as they looked for a healthier work environment. Although she doesn’t have a family supporting her, she faces it head on, on her own strength.
2) her being mistreated by that writer that she dated who then is trying to steal credit for her contributions ( his name?) — that would obviously also come from her mistreatment as a child. People who are abandoned as children unconsciously seek out similar personality types as their former abuser to try and “fix” the childhood trauma. This normally doesn’t end well for them and then they get abused a second time. In other words, they’re an easy target for narcissist, etc. (hope is now she found Dong Man - she can move on to a healthier relationship where they both support each other.)

Something like Perfect Crown is like grape juice. Sweet and goes down easily. This drama though is like rich vintage…
Yes, but people read and watch dramas for different reasons.
I remember sitting in AP English and the professor was talking about “fluff” literature, that it was like eating cotton candy - all air. But I LIKE cotton candy. And I like Perfect Crown.

This series - this is extremely well written and acted and directed - it’s got all three - and I LOVE it!!
But cotton candy has it place, and you can still enjoy it - it just doesn’t fill you up.
If I could only watch one, I’d pick this drama - but since I can watch both, I’ll happily watch both 😉

Lol, maybe wait a day or two after watching and it won’t be as noticeable?
I feel so very spoiled right now, and I don’t want this series to end!

Has anyone watched an episode of this drama, and then right after and gone and watched another drama that you pretty much had liked previously + they get to a scene where the actors crying and it supposed to be emotional ….. and it seems so flat?

We Are All Trying Here is on such a different level - it completely emotionally pulls you all the way in, completely - there is so much nuance and the writing is sublime and the acting is all in, for example, when Eun A explains to the actress why she needed to take that role, it was sooooo well acted, by everyone in the room, it felt like I was actually there and sitting in on a rather uncomfortable meeting.

I think this drama is setting the bar soooo high - I now want all the dramas I’m watching to be at this level.

There are some scenes in Ep 3 and 4 that show that a few members of this group 8 had started seriously looking…
Yeah, but unless you’ve plenty of money, you have to let go of material things to live like that. If you don’t show up for work, then you might lose your job. That’s why I said that I knew a couple of artist that way - they were able to live like that and still make enough to pay there bills because the nature of their work allowed a much more flexible lifestyle. But they obtained that lifestyle by not really caring about material things to begin with - that’s why I associate the two: being free and not caring about material things.

The ones I know who live that “real” life - they are either religious, a couple artist and musicians … personally- I can forgo many status symbols and fancy food, but I would have a hard time living without certain comforts - like hot showers + soft sheets …
We all get pulled into the material things to some degree, it’s impossible not to - you can see how hard living life on the edge is on the ML and his brother.
Trying to stay true to self and still keep the lights on is a balance.

So they used him and chewed him out like bubblegum..... Pathetic. Everyone was complaining about Dongmsn's behavior…
Exactly - they used him and they treated him badly because they felt guilty about it. It made sense there was a reason they were all keeping him around for so long - it seemed like only a couple of them really liked him on some level - the rest obviously looked down on him.

Hope he stays away for a while and let’s -Byeon Eun A treate him well so he learns his worth and what he is capable of 💕🥰

It’s really hard to not be pulled in by societal demands …
