I TOTALLY agree with you. HJ is selfish to the bone and not capable of selflessy help Chloe. All he ever wanted was to possess her and " win against his brother". She’s coming back as Princess Jasmine?? Ahaha. When I read that, it made me think about a story development from the series *Meant to Be*... not sure if you watched that.
In that storyline, the “adoptive mother” regressed to a childlike state after bumping her head, and toward the end of the series she regained all her memories and made a comeback. In the final stretch, she impersonated a Korean-Arab investor in order to exact revenge on the evil male lead.
Not sure if that’s what’s happening here as well, but it honestly feels like this writer created this drama by copying and pasting elements from all the other dramas written by her competitors.

In the close up scene of the doctor injecting her to supposedly kill her, if you look at the syringe he does not push the liquid- he just insert it and the take it out. The machine is the only thing that gives us the impression that she flat-lined and that can be rigged easily.
(unless the whole syringe scene was just badly executed and they forgot to fake inject altogether and she is dead).
