I have been a harsh critic of Yang Mi's acting in the past and even certain parts of this drama, but she's…

YiMu is stealing the show for me, idk if its the char or the actor.
@Trouble-chan @Major I agree with these points too. I personally didn't liked Marry Me or Not at all either. Even though I do agree the leads had potential for good chemistry. The narrative was just really lacking to me.

Yes chemistry is really the utmost important in my opinion too! There wouldn't need to be much words and all the affection could be felt through even the slightest eye contact.

I guess that's why more people like the Dilraba/Vin pairing and they are gonna finally be paired up in The King's Woman next. I just kinda hope the drama comes up asap because I'm looking forward already. :p

Yeahh I love Wallace Huo too :p It wasn't too bad. The story was kinda awful towards the end but the couple's chemistry really made the entire drama experience so enjoyable.

When A Snail Falls in Love is one of my favourite dramas for a reason because of the very reason. I love the pairing so much and rarely do I feel very strongly for a drama pairing that I would ship it. Like usually it's just ok I'm watching but feeling rather detached about them as a couple because of either lack of chemistry or the writing is just plain weak. A lot of dramas lack the ability to convince me about the leads' compatibility.

I watched drama ver My Sunshine, it was okay for me. But the movie is definitely publicly acknowledged to be a huge mess and flop.

I guess that's why you're watching dramas haha.

Heard that Xiao Jing got another drama role but it isn't this drama though? He was rumoured but it seems to be confirmed that the male lead is Shawn Dou. Even on Baidu too.

On the one hand I like how condensed it is, with little to no fillers up to episode 6, but on the other it may…
Absolutely agreeing with everything you said, especially the pacing. Sometimes I thought I missed out something in the narrative, but I just love how fast-paced it is, which is perfect for someone like me who can get rather impatient with dramas. At least the development isn't completely unreasonable, you can somewhat figure out yet there wasn't enough time for them to settle until new things spring up again or things aren't being substantiated enough.

To be honest, pretty much all my drama ships I loved most because they're convincing, didn't involved good kissing scenes at all. So I don't believe in kissing scenes needing to be present at all to make a good romance drama - as in I totally understanding what you mean about good kissing scenes making the relationship feel more natural - I agree too!

But I realised it's not a necessity to make the best romance stories I've come across. Most of them went for at most hugs, forehead kisses, only have one kiss scene throughout, only "lip bumps" etc. I can't speak for East Asians, but I really love romantic relationships in dramas which can be full of passion even without much physical intimacy portrayed onscreen. :)

Sometimes I'd rather there is no kissing scenes at all when it's just fake and bad "lip bumps" though haha

It might be true about what you said about kdramas when I think about it now, I particularly noted that 1 Percent of Something had really good kisses when I was watching it. I enjoyed it but I still think whether a romance is convincing or not relies on the writing AND the actors' acting/chemistry ultimately.

If you want to check out some good kiss scenes outside of kdramas, there's a cdrama titled Perfect Couple which is worth checking out. I love the chemistry between Wallace Huo and Tiffany Tang, and their kissing scenes in this drama are good in quantity and quality~ uwu But of course I have to warn that my standards for kiss scene may vary hahaha.

I agree with you on being ok with stopping at kissing and hugging too! It's not really being a prude, but to us, it's just really natural. I was kinda shocked when I first learnt that sex scenes were quite a norm... I think Asian mass media culture's generally agreed threshold just stops at kissing and light bed scenes at most, and of course the really explicit ones are the outlier.

I honestly don't know about other people but I expect very little from kissing scenes in dramas. So far I have never felt the same issue with cdramas kissing scenes - like maybe it's because I'm ethnic Chinese myself that I'm totally used to this kind of standards...? Haha. But I also haven't found kdrama kiss scenes being any special... o: (Yet again maybe I haven't watched enough kdramas.) Then again, I don't see problems in cdrama kiss scenes because I think a lot of jdramas are even more of the "lip bump" type, and Thai dramas subsequently obliterated my existing expectations for kiss scenes because they are even more conservative about that most of them don't even do it - so now I'm already impressed enough with having one. :)

This title is "Eternal love' instead of "Ten Miles of Peach blossom" is rather confusing.
But translation of the original title is included in the alternative titles. MDL seems to use the official English titles as the main title for cdramas.

"Eternal Love" should be the official English title given by Croton on their official Youtube site. "Ten Miles of Peach Blossom" is the direct translation of part of the original title.

Yeah I agree, there were some parts I particularly liked but there were other parts which I dislike very much. This drama has its strengths and weaknesses. Though I can't say anything for the kdrama since I didn't watched it.

I finished this drama some time ago already, and I can say I still don't care him till the end... Even though you can see he was written to be more casual and dorky too after he got together with Hui Zhen, it was more unconvincing to me, and VERY VERY awkward to watch, on top of Peter Sheng's awkward acting.

Yeahhhh that scene... I question the directing choice hahaha >_<

I know right? He was a shitty boss too. Even though he was made to secretly care about his subordinates, he was still being shitty for a good amount of time in the drama. That's why I love Yimu for calling out the other 3 leads whenever they're doing something wrong in the drama. haha

I said I wish Vin wouldn't take the role of Bai Haoyu mostly from a fan's point of view because I would rather he be acting as interesting and favourable characters rather than boring ass male lead characters like this one especially. A lot of his side chara/second lead chara so far have been outperforming leading roles, and that proves quite a lot. It would pave him a stable path to leading roles. (Meanwhile, Peter Sheng is the opposite. He's got all the leading roles lined up now yet his acting hasn't caught up.) Even though I agree too that Vin's portrayal could have saved Bai Haoyu's character, there's still a huge problem with the writing of the character. That's why I don't entirely blame Peter Sheng's stiff acting.

I guess that's also why some people are mad that Yimu's got way too much screentime, seemingly making Bai Haoyu a male lead in name but not in substance. I would have been annoyed too and screamed injustice if not because I don't care about Bai Haoyu as a character at all.

I agree that Vin is really much more expressive. And same for me, I came to adore him in Love O2O and this drama further reinforced my judgement that he is pretty good.

I wouldn't have want to see Vin in Bai Hao Yu's role though. Lin Yi Mu was waaaay more favourable as a character. BHY was kinda jerkish sometimes, and his character is simply less flattering. But it's true that BHY's role could have been infinitely better with a more skillful actor. I liked Peter Sheng in GPG but his weakness as an actor became more apparent in this role. Bai Hao Yu's portrayal felt a lot like his crown prince character in GPG. Looking forward to his improvement as an actor though.

absolutely. i'm usually all so indifferent towards second male leads but vin zhang does the magic. and it wouldn't have worked without a lovable character. and vice versa.

(my current dp should have already given me away though :p)

It has only been the first few episodes, which could barely allow anyone to judge the quality of the drama yet,…
As mentioned by Domo's comment above, there appears to be a thing happening to the newer cdramas lately in which spams accounts seem to be giving high ratings despite the dramas only barely started airing for long. And if you take a look at the "recently watched by" columns, you'll see that there are quite a number of accounts like that.

It's understandable that some people rate and change the ratings as they go, I do that sometimes too, but it's really disruptive to the community when those accounts were made simply to boost the rankings of certain dramas.

It has only been the first few episodes, which could barely allow anyone to judge the quality of the drama yet, so where are the ratings coming from? Come on.

EDIT: I'm not complaining about people rating the drama as they go. I'm addressing the observation that the drama has been given oddly high ratings by enough people to get in the rankings even though barely a quarter of the drama have been aired. You might have probably already noticed the number of spam accounts behind the abnormal number of ongoing cdramas worked to put them in the rankings.
