I am kinda a bit Skeptical of this guy Seongmin. I feel like has this kinda personality where he wants 'the best…
I completely agree with you. He doesn't seem like a bad guy at all but I don't understand why he keeps flip-flopping. Him making Hwi room alone to "isolate" him while he explored his other options didn't sit right with me at all. He has Hwi on a leash and wants to have both him & Jaesung interested in him until the show ends so he can have his pick. That's the only reasoning I can see behind his actions. It's not fair to anyone, Hwi especially cause you can just tell he's smitten. I wish Hwi realizes he deserves better at some point but I know it won't happen.🤦🏻♀️
I think season 2's casting was so great that for some reason, I can't get into this one. I'm just not feeling the chemistry between any of them and it's kind of annoying how most of them keep switching up their target. Or maybe it's just that I'm still stuck on how dedicated & consistent Jun Seong was during the 2nd season LOL. It could be cause there's more of a competition mentality in this season too, I don't know😆 Seems like I'm the odd one out based on the comments but I'm glad people are enjoying this season so we can continue to get more seasons in the future :)
I'll try to keep this spoiler-free. This is by far, the best Cdrama of this year! The casting was wonderful, the chemistry was sizzling, and the cinematography & directing were on point! Although it was heavy on royal politics, it was easy to understand and follow, which is uncommon. There was not one boring moment throughout the drama, every character was important to the story and I didn't feel like any scene was a waste of time. I'm going to miss this drama and having something to look forward to every day 😩
Lord knows how much I yearn to see this. If the day ever comes when it's announced that this will air, I'll legit cry happy tears lol. Don't know if they ever finished filming but they filmed something. Sad to see the actor's time wasted. Wish they tried to air this in Taiwan instead to avoid China's censorship but idk the ins and outs of producing a drama so maybe that's impossible. Guess I'll keep re-reading the novel for now😭😭😭
It's so disappointing that we most likely won't be able to see 90% of these and even the ones we might see, will be watered down to "Bromance". Especially ones like Immortality and Eternal Faith since as I understand, filming had started/or had been completed. The actor's time and work were completely wasted. Damn China's censorship😭
How I wish Taiwan producers/directors picked up more Danmei to make live-action. There are so many stories I would love to see come to life (we'll probably never see Immortality (2HA) or Heaven Official's Blessing) due to China's censorship. Wish they released those two in Taiwan😮💨 But this one is a good start!
I can't believe I put off watching this one for so long cause I thought they would ruin the OG story for me with the "bromance" censorship. But you can't consider this bromance. There were way too many scenes where, I, an avid BL drama watcher, said "This is the gayest thing I've ever seen" LOL. They did well censoring stuff to get this broadcasted but left some scenes suggestive enough that many people can guess the true meaning of the skinship and innuendos. Now I'm off to read the novel (finally found an amazing translation) while we wait for S2. :)
Pretty sad how some people can't express their dislike of a drama in a public comment section of a public website…
Yes I've learned to keep comments to myself when I subjectively find a drama not to up to my standards. Some people here take it so personally, it's mind boggling lol. If you like a drama, engage in conversations with other people that enjoyed it since you're like-minded. Why bother trying to fight/argue with someone just because they have a different opinion? Ridiculous lol.
Im so lost right now after Legend of Shenli ended. Should i watch this one or Beauty in adversity first?
Pretty sad how some people can't express their dislike of a drama in a public comment section of a public website hu? In response to all the comments above lol. There must be a lot of young watchers on this site, the lack of maturity regarding differing opinions is insane. ANYWAY, neither drama is "bad". Personally, In Blossom started off well for me but due to the face swap nature, it was very jarring seeing how one actress (Zheng He Hui Zi) portrayed a character (Caiwei) and then another actress (JJY) who was supposed to be playing that same character ended up creating a whole 3rd character because she couldn't grasp how to continue the same mannerisms that ZHHZ portrayed. It made it seem as if the ML fell in love with a whole new person later on lol, that was my only qualm with this drama. If you can ignore that (and the overall awkward acting skills of JJY), you might like this investigation-centric drama.
Beauty in Adversity has a strong female lead that is seldom seen in dramas. She doesn't dwell on misunderstandings, she's intelligent, business savvy, and cool-headed. Although this one is a romance, it's a super slow-burn and the romance is not the focus. I watch this one mainly to see the family dynamics and how the FL progresses the business to save her family. Try the first 3 eps of each drama and decide from there which one you're more invested in continuing :) Legend of Shenli was pure gold and I'm afraid it'll be a while before any other Cdrama can fill that void lol.
Now THIS is how you wrap up a good drama. I love going into dramas with super high expectations and not being the least bit disappointed. It would've been hard for this drama to NOT be good cause of the amazing cast but everything else like the music, the CGI, the fight scenes, the costumes, everything was on point. So often a drama has all the attributes of being a high-quality drama but then they botch the last few episodes or the ending. So glad this drama was a masterpiece from beginning to end. I'm going to miss looking forward to new episodes, and will miss Zhao Li Ying & Geng Xin, their chemistry is insane. This is one I'll definitely be rewatching in the future!
Love the actors but I've learned my lesson to stay away from Melodramas😩 I'll have to wait for this to finish and go by the comments about the ending to decide if I'll watch it.
Right! I was so excited when I saw the choreo because I thought it would be good exposure for OOO but to find…
Yeah agreed, it was in poor taste. At least they're doing something about it, instead of ignoring all the complaints. And in some lowkey way this gave the boys some exposure too so that's one takeaway from it I guess lol
The first ep was cute. As an onlyoneof fan, it was disappointing that they took the choreo but according to comments below, they're rectifying the situation. Honestly, my biggest qualm thus far is the actor playing Khemthis. I could tell from watching the 1st episode that it was probably his first time acting and then I went into his profile on here and it seems I was right. His acting is very awkward. Awkward acting isn't new in Thai dramas but First is good and has experience, so hopefully, he won't have to carry the whole show.🤦🏻♀️ Everyone starts somewhere though so maybe Shogun's acting will improve throughout.
They actually did it. An amazing remake that, contrary to expectations, was just as good, if not better in some aspects, than the original material! And I don't say that lightly as a big fan of the original Japanese drama and manga. I came into this with no expectations because remakes are more often than not, disappointing. They went above and beyond though! I loved the little changes and additions they made, it went more in-depth than the Japanese show did when it came to certain situations/issues like the side couples, Achi leaving town for biz, the little things Karan did for Achi while he was crushing on him, Karan's parents' reluctance to the relationship, the proposal, etc. Don't get me wrong, the Jap original will always be the OG and I'll keep rewatching it whenever I need a pick-me-up but gotta give them props for how well they did this remake. Worth more hype!!
