I don't even know why i continued watching it🤦🏻♀️. I should blame myself for watching this after story of Minglan. Watching this after story of minglan, this felt like child's play. The acting! I was about to cry out of cringing everytime they shove those forced romantic scenes in between.
This should have either been a romance story or a detective story. They mixed it horribly and fkd up. I don't hate the actors, for me first time watching ARP was in blood of youth- which is one of my favs. Also Li Landi, her first for me was starry night, which is also one of my favs. But here, i couldn't even feel a sliverof chemistry. There was no emotional depth to their story. Something always felt missing.
And what's with everyone living solely for QinWan. No other characters seem to have a life of their own, they exist solely to support QinWan. The absurd thing from the very beginning was how grand princess seemed tobe affectionate towards QinWan more than towards YueNing!
Supporting characters almost have no motives of their own. I consider myself generous to be giving this a 7/10.

After being frustrated by the story, i came to a conclusion: I didn't watch this for the political story but for the love story. This is what i told myself. The whole politics part is a huge joke here. Nothing makes sense, real criminals were let loose and spmebody else took the blame and died silently. It was just clearing Wei Qilin's name and smearing shit on Wei Yan.
I also think that, that last happy conversation between uncle-nephew was just a dream kind of thing. Glad that not everyone thinks this drama is a perfect jade🤦🏻♀️.

After that disappointing finale, i don't care about the 'absolutely no logic' moments like killing of ShiHu and Lord Changxin, which were many. (you telling me a women, though with martial arts, who was at the battlefield for the fkn first time, killed a general who was basically tempered by battles, and was a mountainous figure, in two strikes and was able to come back alive? You kidding me? XieWu, who knew nothing but battles crumbled with a single strike by that man, and she killed him! And i don't even want to get started with Lord Changxin's death🤦🏻♀️). I am not against women establishing themselves on the battlefield, but bro, make it make sense. If she was tempered in battles, and she knew the battle tactics, she was taught to be general and taught how to lead armies to the battle, i would gladly accept it. But No!!! She killed 2 people which was unbelievable even with the plot armour, and became a 1st rank official in the end? Fkn first rank!? I was even okay with 4th rank, but i lost it at that purple robe💁🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. I don't care about justice to WeiQilin, who, even though FL's father, i couldn't care less as they didn't even show anything that was conclusive or proper introduction to his story.
I just want justice to be served to WeiYan. I am not asking for no punishments, but to only punish for what he did not for what others did. He lost his lover, he lost his little sister who thought it was her brother's selfishness that led to her husband's fall. A lonely man enduring everything for 18 long years. I cried for him. With his death, he was finally able to free himself and to go join his lover, sister and a best friend of a brother-in-law. But to the world? He bore more than he should. He carried three families' grievances with him for 18 years, three loyal families- Wei, Xie and Qi, who were played like toys by the ruler they were loyal to. But in the end, he stayed silent balming himself and his words.

It's not really an open ending. The original novel is 1st book of a triology. Their story is continued in the 2nd book named HiddenGod or the drama name TheLastImmortal.

FR devotes herself to revive him after the events in ALP. That is why she is absent from her post of heavenly empress in the second book/drama.. which causes many things😂
