He wasn't any different in TTEOTM as well. 🙁 He has the face, and looks good in action scenes. But, imo, that's it. He has very limited expressions for all situations.
It looks more like that's the script given to him by production team. I agree that in this season, it is a bit too much. That booing others, screaming out of nowhere, were unbearable. I think the production team is making him do these extra things taking advantage of his already messy behaviour. He was a funny guy in previous seasons, but now its going out of hand.

I think people find HC's "death" really tragic and there stems hatred for BaiJue, all because the "later" Shanggu had no memories of HC. If she had her memories intact, it would look like houchi never really "died", but merged with Shanggu. Hence people easily overlook BaiJue's doings.
And that last line of yours... "the person who eventually disappeared was BaiJue"....... I have watched this drama many times, and similar to you, i find new povs everytime i rewatch. But never really summarised the whole drama. Now that you did it, it feels kind of empty.
In all the sufferings that Baijue and shanggu went through, we seem to forget Tianqi. In my recent rewatch, this exact thing was my finding. TQ lost so much, he never gained!! He did things for her, he saw the things BaiJue did for SG!! Now, for me, this drama has 3 main characters...

I too found it a bit odd, that general's face was familiar, but why would they choose a familiar actor for a role which lasted like 5 mins in the whole drama!
