Shouldn't have?Why?Not 'cause of mental health issues....right?
That's not what I meant. I was referring to the fact that in Korean shows, regardless of their plot and genre (it could be suspense, action, horror, mystery, etc), the writers will make the female lead and male lead fall in love 90% of the time. It's like they can't fathom the idea that men and women can be friends without developing feelings for each other.
I'm honestly tired of non-romance shows forcefully adding romance into the story just because the main leads are a woman and a man. I was hoping this drama wouldn't have romance between the main leads (when it comes to secondary characters, it doesn't bother me too much since they are not the focus of the show) because the plot sounds interesting and I wanna watch it. I would hate to skip it just because the scriptwriters didn't know how to make the dynamic/relationship between the main leads not depend on romance to make it appealing. Imo, there's a serious lack of platonic relationships between men and women in dramas, especially in Korean dramas.
I hope this clarifies any misunderstanding my previous comment caused :)
I know I'm probably asking for to much since this is a k-drama we are talking about... but I seriously hope there's no romance. To me, this is the type of story that doesn't need (or more like, shouldn't have) romance.
What was even the point of adding the love triangle between Sailom, Kanghan, and Pimfah if it was going to be disregarded as fast as it was introduced? Another disappointing episode to say the least. Kanghan and Sailom are cute together, but the way story is flowing makes no sense. It feels like the writers couldn't decide what to so with the story and just mushed together a bunch of old tropes and clichès to make the audience forget that there's supposed to be "danger" in their romance.
(And btw, seeing Sailom fall into Kanghan's arms for the 100th time is seriously getting old and dumb.)
This episode was slightly better than the previous one but still not good enough for me. No one scene made me feel anything, not even the confession scene and much less the scene where they kiss, which by the way was very awkward. I understand it was their first kiss post-confession and they are still unsure about their feelings, especially Kanghan. But it was honestly painful to watch because of how stiff and uncomfortable (?) Perth and Chimon looked.
Also, all the scenes where the characters were practicing cheerleading gave me flashbacks from 2Moons because they would practice the same ~5 movements over and over. Couldn't they put a little bit more effort into the choreo to make it look more realistic?
And as a side note, I know they are most likely never going to properly address the bullying that happened in the first 2 episodes but it still bothers me that they abandoned that "important" part of the story without an appropriate conclusion. Did Kanghan and his friends just abruptly agreed to stop bullying and taking advantabe of their classmates ?
maybe kang liking pimfah was not that clear? i saw a comment down stating the same thing . then how did i know…
I guess it was too vague. I might have to rewatch previous episodes as well. I probably missed some hints regarding Kanghan liking Pimfah since I was too focused on Kanghan and Sailom's relationship.
It was honestly odd how "all of a sudden" Kanghan likes Pimfaih. In the previous episodes, I never felt he had any interest in her so seeing him in this episode trying so hard to spend time alone with her felt weird. Also, for some reason I feel they are trying to set up Pimfah and the student teacher.
Anyway, I really liked how they executed the "plot twist" at the end with the locks. I had suspicions that the scriptwriters were going to add some kind of love triangle into the story so I wasn't surprised to see that Pimfah had a secret crush on Sailom.
I feel this drama's biggest problem is the pacing... it feels all over the place. It makes me believe they are gonna add too many plotlines (more than they can handle) in future episodes and disregard the ones they already introduced at the beginning, like the bullying "arc", without giving them a proper conclusion.
The story was kind of a mess, but the actors are their chemistry really made it worth it. I loveeeed their interactions. They were so cute and sweet. Even though this wasn't the greatest show I've seen, I enjoyed the main couple's scenes so much.
I genuinely feel Sailom and Kanghan have gotten close way too fast. I also feel Kanghan's friends should be more apprehensive towards Sailom. It seems ooc for them to accept so easily that Kanghan is getting close with someone they used to dislike. These two things are definitely gonna affect my enjoyment of the show, especially in later episodes. Hopefully the pace gets better.
Just out of curiosity, if Krist and Gawin get a new show together next year, what kind of plot would you like it to have? I was thinking of a historical BL since that's one of my favorite genres.
