I want the part where Wooyeo talked about getting married. It was not the typical dramatic proposal. It was soooo natural and heart-felt. So I hope the angst would not take most of the time and they let the their 'almost' normal relationship just flow peacefully like in the webtoon.

I don't believe the preview (crossed fingers) because I want them to talk about what they talked about in the webtoon I'm begging pleaseeee

OMG same. I only got through the middle part of Goblin because I was watching with other people, and watched only the last few minutes of the final episode. Quiet the opposite of this, I just watched episodes 8-14 again over the weekend haha

Yeah, the unofficial translation is only up to Episode 55 (out of 183). They stopped translating when it became available in the english Webtoon where only 27 episodes are out so far. The original material in naver is now restricted/paid.

I hope you would write a review after this. I liked reading blogs on this webtoon way back, but most if not all are in Korean haha, so I am looking forward to read what people think of the story (not the drama).

I’ve read so many drama reviews that they themselves feel repetitive, drawn from kdrama review template. I’d like to read a review about the story for once.

For me the first step to having a sensible discussion regardless whether or not your POVs align is that you both must be standing in the same circle at least. Otherwise, one would be talking about this drama, and the other is talking about I dunno, Kkondae Intern? Hahaha.

Btw I don’t mean to say some people don’t understand. I just think you must come from a particular point when approaching each drama, in short adjust your expectations. Not demanding that, just suggesting haha. I am concious that people are not obliged to adjust their mental, emotional or whatever state just to watch a drama lol, it’s a kdrama for f’s sake.

I won’t even try to clarify anymore. To each his own experience anyway. XD

Lol this is a fantasy romance but I feel that some people are watching this with expectations that are totally off.

I have to agree about the first love part. It was unnecessary. That actually was the part that was added in the drama. I did not like it personally. But over-all I still love the drama.

Maybe they did fail to at least drop a bit of a pointer to it earlier but I wanted to clarify that it was not squeezed in to be an extender as far as the original work is concerned. Plus it was already stated that gumihos feed on human energy, so his strong desire for her and her for him would have jacked up all the energy radar, so even I have not read the webtoon it would still have made sense to me fantasy and all.

I don’t know how you plan to write the story otherwise without these conflicts, but they did not pull them out of thin air. This is based on a webtoon and they are sticking really close to it. Maybe you don’t like the story that’s it. But everything that happened are necessary so far.

I don't know if it's the translation or choice of words because his action towards the female prof was a question of conscience not emotion. I hope Dam has not forgotten that more than feeling desperation, he did not understand why what he did was wrong or why he failed Hyesun's test. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next two episodes. I love all the cast, I can feel that they all loved their respective characters, especially Hyeri and Hanna. Edited sorry. the writing of the drama is great, they took the simple but thoughtful webtoon to another level, polished the crude parts very nicely.

I love it. The sequence is better, makes more sense. There's just one part I'm confused or maybe I missed it (have to rewatch haha). The spirit said that Wooyeo had to feel a whole set of emotions to be human. In the webtoon, it wasn't emotions because he clearly have felt those already. Instead he had to develop morals and conscience which animals naturally don't have. As far as I know, animals can feel emotions like anger or depression but they won't have any notion of conscience or morality at all. Or maybe I got it the other way around, he had to become human first so he can gain those two attributes. The question is do morals make you human? or being human gives you natural access to morals? LOL

Anyway, the webtoon’s ending is very simple. Worked well for me as far as the webtoon is concerned, so I’m very curious how they will wrap up the drama. They have been pretty close up to now.

The original webtoon in korean is already complete since late last year. I have reservations on the immediate chapters after the recent episode so I am actually hoping they’d tweak it.

Same, I don’t know how to make people see this beautiful story on what makes humans special and the things we take for granted. It will make you glad that you are a puny human. :)

I love what you just said, that’s exactly what the webtoon was about. I am happy it was translated well by the drama and I hope more people eventually see it. I was afraid to appear to be reading too much to a typical romcom, in case the drama fails to relay the webtoon’s message and seeing it went through (to you at least) I’m relieved. Now I can safely say that people will enjoy this more if they don’t approach this from a typical kdrama pov, particularly for its kind aka romcom and fantasy. That’s why we see people arguing about Shin Wooyeo’s problematic actions because people judge him by human standards and like Dam misunderstand him that way, and then there are those who think this is between the ML and SML and compare it with love triangles from SU and TB, when it’s actually not the same as those two. It’s trying to hide in the safety of a generic romcom. There’s still 4 episodes left and they are the most critical for me as a reader of the webtoon, Dam and Wooyeo’s story is one of the most beautiful love stories I have read.
