Well, compared to Cui Xingzhou, Yan Zheng seems more deranged and has more complicated family background (pretty sure he has abandonment issue). Man lowkey has many insecurities.

It's lowkey reminds me of Are You the One coz both share similar trope (hidden identity) and pretty much the same order (hidden/fake identity > separation + revelation > reunion).

His character is kinda cryptic(?) probably bcs he was born emotionless so it's not easy to guess his train of thought and purpose.

I really hope Ji Yong character stay to have platonic relationship with Dou Zhao cuz i genuinely enjoy their dynamic. We obviously begin to face more serious conflict but our cp haven't consummated yet lol, i begin to pity Song Mo every time he laugh it off after misread his wife intention.

I'm a bit confuse with JXB prince status (only watched till ep 5).
So he has another surname, Xi from his father. Meanwhile Jiang is his mother and his sister also use it. He's a prince but his subordinate called him "daren" which usually for official instead of "dianxia". How is he related to royal fam? Cos i dont think his father has royal blood, he seems like official as well.

It's good but way too far, tho idk in a bad way or good way. Probably good cuz i can't stand his character at all.

Taking a break just to say early episode 39 is a bit hard to watch if you are like me who feels disgusted to the point of nausea when certain male character appear on screen.
It's a new peak of discomfort. I thought i've reached it but damn this one is really uncomfortable.

Yes, they both used each other but i disagree that Wanning can't see thru SYR facade. Sounds naive but she just fool in love. It's a love masked with trick and obsession but she's certainly in love with him. She's very well aware SYR never willing to stay by her side yet she forced him to do so, not bcs of his loyalty to XFF or his so called different status excuse, man care about his reputation above anything and illicit affairs with princess is a no no.
Misery loves company, it makes more sense with her background story. She just in love, with wrong man, in a wrong way, at the wrong time.

Can't believe i forget about him. He gives me this uncomfortable unsettling feeling, probably cuz the sexual assault thing, but i only have pure disgust for SYR. The way he act so righteous while trying to justify his action 🤮

Tbvh this week episodes is a bit hard to watch. Previously, i thought SYR might be gray character, until the banquet scene when i saw his couple stuff with Wanning. I could say it was one of the biggest turn off from a character to me, the disgust level soar immediately and only get higher each episode. I feel sick, like literally wanna vomit when i saw him on screen (God bless LYQ).
His character is evil to the core and not excusable, the back story is unnecessary and sort of useless. Pre-jail time he acted like his situationship with Wanning forced him to the edge, tho it could be true till some extent, but it's a solid proof how spineless he actually is. And ofc his shameless behavior post-jail time disgust me more than ever like goodness the urge to throw my device and skip his scene is 📈📈📈

In contrast, Wanning back story nudge me a bit. Not to the point of empathy but like "oh" moment(?)
What the world has done to her is horrible but she bet the whole country to revenge her misery so, yup, idk sis, not a good deal i guess.

I probably get used to it after countless costume drama and i think ancient drama tend to treat maternal cousin as related unrelated basis cuz they have different last name.

Technically, nobody seems to make the cut as official in young generation of Jiang fam so kinda make sense considering family scandal and Jiang father age.
