Zhuang ZhiXing was the most unexpected & misplaced charcater for me here. We see him as a caring & free…
In the drama, Zhixing’s father begins to neglect him and favour Zhifu out of guilt for killing Zhixing’s mother. Zhixing also slowly started to realise that the only person who truly loved him for who he was, was his mother. His father had only treated him well before was because he saw him as the next heir, and after his step mother created an image of him being useless, his father has stopped caring for him as much which caused Zhixing to grow distant over the years.
However, in the recent years, he still did love both of his parents, but the emotional gap led him to accept the truth and begin resenting his father. I think it was also that his mother died while he was young so in the sad times and good times he really missed her and which led him to always bring her up in his heart and miss her whenever they treated him bad. Adding on, as Zang Hai mentioned, Zhixing had already sensed that something was wrong but he was just in denial until there was actual evidence.
Despite his anger, Zhixing never truly stopped caring for his father. He tried to stop Zang Hai and even questioned whether killing the Duke was necessary after he had already fallen. When he finally killed him, it was because his father had rebelled and accepted death to protect the Zhuang family’s reputation. They made a deal, but Zhixing still couldn’t go through with it out of love so the Duke stabbed himself. Also I forgot to add but earlier in the story, Zhixing also took an arrow for his father during a critical moment, risking his life to protect him even after everything that had happened. This proves that Zhixing’s hatred for his father was only temporary-ish and it was all out of anger. Deep down, he still loved his father even though his father killed his mother, and whenever there was a situation and the love truly mattered, his actions showed it. For instance, taking the arrow and hesitating to give the final blow both highlight that no matter how angry he was, he could never stop caring for his father.
Overall the drama is 1000/10 for me!! I love revenge dramas and where both ML and FL are strong and smart! :)
Shout out to Xiang AnTu because her character is the most underrated ever :< She genuinely was so smart throughout the whole drama; she was a very understanding person towards Zang Hai, and even though she was never really mad at him for suspecting her and her mother, she kept on saying it wasn't them. I know that she acted "mad", but genuinely that was cute because she was the one who went up to him and gave him hints that she already forgave him/wasn't mad at him, and that's why he owned up to it and came to Zhen Tower to apologise :>. Btw, even when she was like, "Oh, I take revenge on the spot" (not word-for-word), it was a nice/cute "revenge" rather than some "I'm pissed" type of scene, which is something fresh in C-dramas.
I love Zhang JingYi, bro; she always is a green forest for her male leads, and she always plays smart characters!
Idk how, like, out of everyone, I genuinely loved Zhuang ZhiXing the most! I felt so bad for him most of the time because even Zang Hai was really rude to him, especially during the first time when we went to the army. I also loved loved the Duke of PingJin; I really wished he had a reason or there was some kind of misunderstanding and he get to live and be a father-figure for Zang Hai and be the best father for Zhuang ZhiXing
as a muslim myself i was also suprised lol!but i think its a phrase in mandarin or maybe a saying that had the…
Idk, the idiom even goes against our belief esecially if they say it as Prophet Muhammed PBUH because as Muslims we believe if Prophet PBUH wants something then it would definitely occur because he is our prophet and beloved by Allah SWT.
They also made fun of Arabic by saying assalamu alaikum and walaikumus salam and they said that that old women was saying something else and nothing related to the original meaning of salam
it’s a well known proverb. this drama has nothing to do with islam. I’m a muslim too and so far up to ep 18,…
there are other references such as the old women saying assalamulaikum and walaikumusalam and interpreting in a different meaning. They clearly aimed it but the viewers are too ignorant and didn't realise it
I'd also like to add on that the prisoner of beauty really is a great name for every couple because the ml was prisoner of the fl's beauty and couldn't take the so called revenge he has planned for decades. He got prisoned by her charm and went against his three generation of people who got killed which shows how much he got imprisoned. Similarly, all the secondary couples were also prisoners of beauty in their respective story. For instance, general weiliang even though he has such hatred towards the qiao family he still fell in love with xiaotong where he was willing to do anything and even go against the original plan of marrying one of the lords daughter. This act shows that even though he had an opportunity to live in a better place, he still got imprisoned by xiaodongs beauty whom is a traitor and would do anything to be with her, its also worth mentioning how even when he was dying the only thing he could think about is her showing how he's heart already belongs to her and even death cannot stop his love for her. The villain aka liu yan one was super duper interesting for me as he also was a prisoner of beauty for yu luo even after having all that hatred and being such an evil character, he still loved that girl so deeply and was willing to go against the world to ensure that she can get the revenge she wanted him to get although he knows that she isnt who she pretends to be and she has her own plan behind his back. Last and most importantly bi zhi for afan, they are my favourite couple, and their one also represented being a prisoner of afan's beauty since bizhi was ready to do anything even if it means that he'd have to go against the world and become the most evilest person on earth.
although it wouldve been interesting to see weishao killing the whole qiao clan and getting the revenge, I loved how they showed takeover hatred with kindness
I also loved how smart the fl is, not just for the qiao family but also as a wife for weishao such as after betraying him, she knows that she is wrong and apologies and does things to make it upto him which not only shows that she takes great responsibility but also is much better to see as an audience that the ml isn't a simp who runs around just cause the fl is pretty but also has common sense and his needs are also being met by the fl so it's an equal situation and love
good for weishao that manman has abit more heart than rest of her clan because aint noway he trusted the qiao clan again like his grandfather in episode 30 💀
Just finished this and would say I mostly enjoyed. It's one of those, didn't LOVE it, but didnt hate it either. My…
I'd love to see Ms Chen with Prince Hengyang, they both r perfect sml and sfl, and in general i think both of their love story with fl and ml was deep. Like, Prince Hengyang had strong chemistry with the fl and in normal dramas he probably would have been the ml. Additionally, for Ms Chen, her and ml were basically childhood sweetheart and even after he gets with the fl the way he says like he's there for her and always will be there shows why she fell for him. Throughout her whole life, only he gave her reassurance.
However, in the recent years, he still did love both of his parents, but the emotional gap led him to accept the truth and begin resenting his father. I think it was also that his mother died while he was young so in the sad times and good times he really missed her and which led him to always bring her up in his heart and miss her whenever they treated him bad. He also took care of her and put medicine on her back (so she had to undr3ss abit) and he did all this while being married. Idk, it seems weird.

i still think its islamophobe though
They also made fun of Arabic by saying assalamu alaikum and walaikumus salam and they said that that old women was saying something else and nothing related to the original meaning of salam
Idk, its quite weird tbh
is this related to prophet pbuh and why is it used? as a Muslim im thinking about should I watch it or not 😭 someone help
