1. I think it was before, if I’m remembering the order the scenes were shown. I think her husband being accused/convicted of burger made her choices easier. She worked hard at their dry cleaning business but without the husband it would have been financially very difficult to make ends meet. My thought about her leaving her daughter: we don’t know if she planned to abandon her because she was in a serious looking accident right after dropping the daughter off at her friend’s house. And even as the rich wife she continued to look for her daughter.
This is all based on 5 episodes out of 100. So time will tell if any of this is correct!
