After watching the first two episodes i can't explain how surprised i am by the fact that i can understand taeho's…
How many KDramas have you watched? I can pickup words during the ML’s thoughts, but…. I guess I just might have to learn to understand Korean if I want to ditch the subs!!! For you > Well done!
Is it a cultural thing in South Korea that an unemployed college age “kid” tells his doctor, older sister what to do and how to do it? And why would she put up with that behavior?
I’m not from SK but the way women are treated is often abusive (mentally) and imho - wrong!
Just wrapped this up and its was just okI want to give props for the creators of this drama for trying to tackle…
Wow - so on point to the culture of ‘killing’ yourself to be successful that seems pervasive in Kdrama land. Happiness only through success is the parents’ bumper sticker!
It makes me sad when watching dramas where kids go to school then go for another four hours to more school. (As a former teacher & parent.)
It seems like it is the culture there from an outsider’s perspective and I don’t know what life in SK is really like from my seat in front of the Kdrama screen in the US.
Anyway before I digress too far, I really appreciate what you wrote and the time you took to share it!!
I’m sulrprised by some of the negative comments here, especially about episodes 11-16. I found this kdrama to…
I thought the same thing! I was impressed that a Kdrama ventured in to mental health which as an outsider (I’m from & in the US) seems like the most taboo thing in SK!?! From personal experience drinking alcohol, especially with mental health meds, is a big no-no. Maybe it’s entertainments way of easing it in to the culture…hmmm. (I mean they could have had a shot of soju instead of 6 bottles- lol!)
I don’t know if Kdrama drinking is a good/accurate representation of real life in SK but to me it’s a bit excessive. But at least they can hire people to drive them home after excess!
I feel the same way. I know we’re supposed to give her because her family is messed up, childhood trauma blah…
Agreed! The FL has been thru the mill in her life and just has been given ‘a death sentence’ medically. It would be hard to be compassionate, forgiving and accepting in her current state of mind. Though she has been doing an amazing job being more positive.
I can see in the flash backs she was warmer in the past and she even wiped his tears in the latest episode(s). There is much we are missing from her & their lives that have not been shared yet. She’s even lost her older brother, which I’m sure has affected her from her childhood.
I look forward to her character’s growth throughout the series. (And she’s an awesome actor! (I still want to use actress, but I don’t think that’s proper anymore.)
Are you talking about the young ML and the beauty shop woman? They did throw in there today they he is 18… whew…lol!…
I tend to overthink way too much, but right now we don’t have too much to ‘upset’ about in this drama yet!!!
Have you seen the kdrama Goblin yet? Spoiler there’s a 900 year age difference (lol) so as long as everyone is an adult 8 years is “easy peasy”!!! (And they shared the ML in this drama was 18 for good measure…)
I’m a huge fan of family drama. I loved this one, but not as much as others! TH’s character was the main reason…
Loved Once Again… almost Perfect! LYOL was really good until the last 4 episodes when the train went off the rails with no time to right itself… except for the dreaded… TIME WARP!!!
WOW!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all that! It’s weird because now I kinda wanna watch it… lol! But at least I know what to kind of expect and have you guide and insight to keep me from going ‘overboard’!!!
I’ve only watched 120+ KDramas and a couple movies…
How long have you been watching?
For you > Well done!
It’s been a few months since I watched TRL, but I really loved it!
I forgot the his name… 🫣
What does ‘cui’ mean?

I did enjoy this show aside from this issue.

I always like to see the “good guys” ( or OTP in this case) win!!
And since we don’t see too much of their happy time together we (I) want more of it!!!
