I have never thought of an ending the way you put it. I always avoid sad or ambiguous endings because they are too much like real life.
While I’d prefer a happy ending, I will watch the final 2 episodes this evening with your words in mind.

This show was so well done and unique, I’m going to miss it.

After what looked like an old fashioned “pillow fight” with feathers flying in the lobby between the woman and a fight that neither guy got hit… I’m not sure how much sadder it can get!?! 😆

(I’d say “50 shades of grey” but that’s something else entirely! LoL)

1. I think it was before, if I’m remembering the order the scenes were shown.
I think her husband being accused/convicted of burger made her choices easier.
She worked hard at their dry cleaning business but without the husband it would have been financially very difficult to make ends meet.
My thought about her leaving her daughter: we don’t know if she planned to abandon her because she was in a serious looking accident right after dropping the daughter off at her friend’s house.
And even as the rich wife she continued to look for her daughter.

This is all based on 5 episodes out of 100. So time will tell if any of this is correct!
