Like I'm in ep 6 and the next thing I know, Dan is having some weird sex dream about the shadow where the shadow…
He's certainly no longer scared of the shadow.
The shadow is apparently a succubus--though I'm suspecting it's an incubus, this being BL and all.
I know from my own shadow work we need to embrace the shadow, find out why it exists, what it wants. I'm assuming that's what Dan was doing, "giving in" to the shadow to help integrate it with himself, knowing at least that it was a dream.
I have a weird hypothesis that Dan's shadow is based on some level of internalized homophobia--but maybe I'm just projecting from my own experience. π
I love how the Catholic priest is part of Dan's problem, and the Buddhist monk, truthful about not being able to solve Dan's problem, at least gives him something that he can use to help himself.
This series is ok so far. I just keep smh! Why is it that in time-travel BLs where a main character travels back…
Jom seems to be trying to hide it. I mean, Jom did use the term "Cool" to which Yai didn't understand, and Jom was caught being able to speak English. I can imagine though there could be other skills he'd have which could have come in handy by now.
I agree with this. I've seen some really nasty comments and I don't think people realise how small their budget…
As I understand it, BL originally had nothing at all to do with the queer experience. It was male-on-male romance, written by women, for women. Which is why you get a lot of that trope early on in BL history of "I'm not gay, I just love [insert uke's name here]." The protagonists could NOT be gay in any way because that would add too much reality to the fantasy.
It's also why one could watch a ton of BLs and not know a damn thing about what it means to be a discriminated demographic.
Of course, nowadays, the lines have blurred quite a bit, fortunately. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean fujoshis are any the wiser still.
As a Queer guy watching this, I have no problem visiting this story week after week, this is a nice distraction…
You should know by now not to have such high expectations of fujoshis. They think they're allies just for watching BLs, but then vote against our rights because their church tells them to.
Yea, pretty sure this whole Buddy Y Line Animal series is just a training/practice project for both the cast and crew, just like En of Love. This is worse than some of those no-budget Filipino BLs.
Expect this first couple to fade into obscurity, one of the other two will be the "breakout" and get their own series in two years.
Judging by the poor quality so far, I'm guessing the entire Buddy Line Y Animal project is one of those "see which couple sticks" training projects like En of Love.
Judging by the (lack of) quality of Dinosaur Love, this is feeling like one of those "see which couple sticks" training projects, just like En of Love.
And that's not the first time. The Shadow is some kind of incubus or succubus.

Side note: I expect to see Yiwah and Marine's wedding in the finale also!!!!
