Definitely watch him in Under the Power. He gives off a totally different vibe. I love his charasmatic gaze in that drama. Be warned though, the plot is eh, but the chemistry between the leads and overall acting from the cast is what made the drama the dark horse.

I get you. My friend won't watch oao bc it's angst. She only wants to watch happy dramas, especially during this pandemic. But i feel like we need to watch OAO in order to appreaciate FAE and the significance of their happy ending in FAE. There's a difference between viewers that watched OAO first then FAE and first timers that only watch FAE. I feel like OAO fand will cherish FAE more

It's one of the reasons why I like her role as the princess. She depicts perfectly as a cute, demure lady. It makes sense for her to be like this bc of her fsmily background and her role as future crown princess. It's actually refreshing to see a fl like this. Contrary to popular opinion, I'm kinda bored of watching princesses that fight and do revenge like The Long Ballad. What I like most is that shiyi is demure and ladylike, sometimes naive but not a sha bai tian. And Bailu does thos very naturally.

I hope it's a good script. It's one of Huace's higher production drama. I believe in 7 and wk's judgements, especially since both of their companies are also part of production/investment. Last time 7'a cimoany invested was in Go Ahead

Absolutely agreed. In terms of period drama in recent years, this one has surpassed The Wolf and The Long Ballad. Idk how to explain, just the cinematography, acting, chemistry, the feels and depth and meaning is just so much more for me.

I saw a clip on wb, shiyi says "shifu I'm coming to marry you" and she tilts her body, which indicates she's jumping off the building. Which also indicates that Sheng Chen died.

I've watched 2 of his older dramas, one included him costarring with Yangzi. I used to think he was kinda ugly, but it was after Under the Power that I slowly realized he's pretty handsome. It's Under the Power that basically gave him a "2nd life" at stardom and popularity. When he announced his marriage, he lost a lot of fans and offers. But after Under the power, he became immensely popular. He's very charasmatic in the drama plus his costar, Seven Tan, had amazing chemistry. The plot is eh, also a bit low budget, but the cast, acting and chemistry of leads really pulled off and became thr dark horse.

Im prepared for their death. I think by watching this first we'll appreciate their 2nd life more since they can finally be together.

Watched first 4 eps and Bailu really suits this feminine ladylike type of character. She's very soothing to look at in the drama. Allen really fits this role.

Sheng cheng is very doting on shiyi yet also semi strict. Such as the tea scenario where she poured out an expensive tea and he had her write about her wrongdoings. But he also said "bc you like tea, I buy you tea. But this is not a good wasteful habit bla bla bla". I liked that scene cuz he showed him doting her yet also teaching her. He still stays within his shifu role yet already shows signs of liking her more than a disciple.

Having just watched one ep, I understand you. I cant take the angst
