The lightning is like Joy Of Life
She's not bad too. The thing is, there's just way too many actors and actresses. My fave actress took 15yrs before She's even remotely acknowledge by the acting circle

I agreed, that if this maid is to be the potential fl of XuFeng, then she is really lacking. Like I said before, she must've had a backdoor, perhaps her company gave more resources. I was surprised she landed a big role like this in a drama full of veterans. It is a high production drama. Last I saw her in a previous drama I didn't really like her. Her face is just lacking the "wow" factor, she doesn't have anything distinctive. I had to google He Lan Dou, and I rmb some of her works. Her face is mediocre at best, and acting is just soso. Could never get into her acting. An actress doesn't have to be beautiful, but to be successful, they have to have something memorable like a drama or specific scene. She's not even a wallflower but a background side cast. The ones that are nameless and faceless.

At this point, idc if there's more critique than compliments for this drama. I need another drama after JOL, and this will suffice. I haven't been able to get into any dramas, including ym/william's, yz, vic/yb. zly. I need a drama that give a lot of suspence, mystery, thrill, surprise and dark humor.

lol, this drama isn't going to happen anymore. Next year will have Master and Flight, and possibly Home! Rumored…
I am a fan of Seven, I follow her activities closely for the past couple years, meaning her weibo and online tabloid rumors and other fans' comments and their theories etc. My other friend has been even a longer fan and she has a familiar knowledge of how or when Seven will announce something. This isn't mean, it's call reality. This drama isn't going to happen. I was once excited for this so I searched about it. It was scheduled or planned to start filming Jan of 2020, but bc of Covid it was paused. From there, both actors, especially Seven, have been busy filming one drama after another. There was slight hope that Seven and Dylan will film once their schedule is cleared up (I assumed Seven signed a contract with Mango so she would have to film a drama with Mango either way). But it's been 2 years and going on 3rd year now. Another reason is Dylan already filmed a simliar concept of "older sister-younger brother" romance, which aired this year. It wouldn't be smart of Seven to film this type of drama when her costar already did. She's also trying to change her image and stray away from romcom or idol drama. Lastly, if you look at the recent and rumored to be costars, you will see that they are of higher status celebs. Kenny Lin, Wangkai (like common! it's wangkai), and JingBoRan. Dylan isn't an A-list celeb nor is he even considered a B-list (every year, China releases a list of celebs who are A, B, and C-list actors. I don't agree with it since some singers are listed as A-list when they aren't even actors). I'm sorry to say, if this offends you if you are a Dylan fan, but if Seven partners with Dylan then she's going backwards. I'm sure Dylan will improve in his acting, and perhaps the drama with Esther will save his career.

These are the reasons why I think this drama isn't going to happen. Ofc, they are mostly logical assumptions, and anything can happen. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but that's how I see things. Just like how I wish and hope Seven and Allen will collab a 2nd time, but I know it's a slim chance, given that their schedule don't fit and their fans hate each other.

Couldn't agreed more. Idk how she got the role. Must be some backings. ok I take it back, she fits as a maid. There's a chinese saying " maid/servant face" and she fits that. That's why I didn't think she fit as fl, but now knowing her character is a maid at first, well at least they got that right.

I only finished first ep. I can't help but compare this to JOL and had hopes and expectations it would be on par with JOL. What I'm not very fond of is the choreography of the fight scenes. The editing of it isn't that great in the fights. They keep fast forwarding the actual choregraphy and just do close up shots, even more absurd is having these The Flash moments where they fast forward it in hyper speed. But, it's just first ep, so I still have hopes it'll get better.

Title Delicious Romance Spoiler
They were engaged and doing wedding planning. I can understand their parent's frustration.
In the further eps, I believe one of the pair of parents booked the restaurant to do the reception or something. Without letting the girl know, and that was when they already broke up. During the video call, they (the couple) didn't start discussing it, they were busy arguing. So I would consider it a onesided discussion between the parents and the couple.

Technically they weren't engaged. They just lived together. Basically skipped the engagement and go straight to wedding planning. But they havent even started the planning. It was the parents that did it behind their back. Which i don't appreciate

On ep 14. I hate the parents forcing their kids into relationships and marriages. They are old enough to think for themselves. If Xiameng doesn't want to marry the ex then she doesn't have to. It's the rest of her life she has to spend with the guy. Her parents can give suggestions and even their prespectives but never force or make her do something.

This is really a good drama. Amazingly funny. The only thing is unnecessary here is the mask. They wore the mask…
I agreed. It's like they want to promote safe protocals of covid and depict the hardworking and good side of the medical staff during covid.

Been in a cdrama drought for months. The last drama that remotely interested me was YAMG. I happened to chance upon this drama and got hooked. Storyline is fresh and entertaining. It's definitely a hidden gem. There's a western flavour in this drama that sometimes reminds me of Modern Family.

is this really confirm?? i can't wait to see TAN SONG YUN again in her new drama..i really like her in Romance…
No. This is probably a very very old rumor. There's 0 news this past two years of them ever collaborating. Strong rumors of her collaborating with jing boran. So that's exciting. Plus, it's a drama with the same author in ggs1 and fae/oao

One reason for looking forward to 2021 was because of this drama. I guess it's cool that I didn't get to see it…

I gave up on Joy of life the first time, mainly bc the very start of the show was set in modern time in a library. I was confused expecting a period drama. Gave it another go and once getting past the intial 5-10 mins I was hooked. The mystery, the dialogues and dark comedy and cliff hangers were so good. I don't like political dramas, the only ones I managed to really like were Nirvana and Joy. Similar genres like Vikings and GOT contain a lot of political stuff unless you want to go the fantasy route. I think Ice Fantasy you may enjoy (I didn't, it wasn't my thing)

Are there really 46 episodes? Viki only has 40, but the ending felt quite sudden, so maybe there are more somewhere…
There's 40. one of them is tv version while other is online version. The online version is more consistant with 40mins of content while the TV one is all over the place, sometimes it's 40 mins but weekend it could range from 25-30mins, hence why it's 46 eps.
