You will symphatize with him as the episodes going by. I already watched until 12 epi. So, i know the reason why…
Perhaps, but if it's bc of his dead wife and unborn child...like yea i get that it's painful. But that's still not a valid excuse for him to be violent to the 2nd fl and tovtorment and ridicule his once bff aka Master. And if he steals fl from ml then he's an even bigger asshole.
Im glad it's not 60 eps. 48 eps isn't too bad to power through if it gets too long winded. But I don't have high hopes for a happy ending for the leads since I heard it's angst from start to end. While 2nd leads have a love hate relationship.
I'm on ep 4. I'm glad there's no fallijg in love with cross dressing boy. Thought the Princess will fall in love with Haishi. But since princess touched Haishi's chest by accident I assume she knows Haishi is a female. Perhaps they will be good friends and even confidants to each other. It's a nice change from the jealous revenge type of girls
Same Story in an Old Book. Here we are replacing ............ML : Arrogant CEO to Arrogant Marshal, FL : Personal…
Yes it's the same old. I've read a few manhua of the republican era and it's basically powerful handsime marshal bullying and marrying damdel in distress. But I still watch cuz I lean towards this type of genre. Unfortunately, I get bored and drop half way.
Uh, so what if I'm chinese and I like watching cdramas over kdramas. I've had my fair share of love for kdramas (over a decade ago) and I'm over it. I've watched Full House and Autumn in My Heart in comparison to your Heirs. So yes it's been that long since I first started watching kdrama....way before the hype right now. It's nearly the same type of plot and over dramatic and zealous type of drama. Just bc I like cdrama more and I'm Chinese by ethnicity doesn't mean you can judge me based on that. I also like western shows and I've watched hk, thailand, japanese, taiwanese etc. Your statement is very narrow minded and prejudice. Also, I can feel your resentment for China. Not that I give a damn. But don't project your personal feelings and resentment on to others just bc they enjoy cdrama over kdrama. Just like music, it's subjective. It's based on preference, not based on ethnicity and patriotism. this statement of yours really show the kind of person you are.
I do agree with you, however, that cdramas are many the same, depending on the genre. Cdrama are mass produced, so there are definitely identicalstorylines, but also very well made ones. I pick and choose, depending on the plot, acting, cast, editing, costume etc. Not just bc it's a cdrama and I'll blindly watch it.🙄🙄.
I'm actually quite offended by your statement. You can say w.e you want in your rebuttal or defense since I won't be responding to you anymore.
I like cdrama most bc there's a vast variety of choices. Even just period drama there's tons to choose from. Theres fantasy xianxa, wuxia, palace, different dynasties, mystery, romcom. I can't watch historical kdramas mainly bc their history is pretty short and depressive. But kdrama os rrally good at making dramas of weslthy elites that i dont think China has it yet. Judt from the hair style and wardrobe is much better than china's when they portray wealth. Sometimes i find cdramas' portral of weslthy people tacky.
I initially had 0 expectations for this drama bc of the fl. This actress' acting I never had any good compliments or acknowledgement. Although, In a class of her own wasn't too bad...seemed like her acting improved in that one. Plus SWL was definitely eye candy and a major incentive to watch. Anyway, am watching ep 1 bc no good drama rn and Joseph isn't too bad of an actor. But seeing so many negative reviews I dont have much expectations for this drama.
Agree! Her makeup look in her next upcoming drama, Hua Rong look exactly the same again too.
It's been the same for her other previous dramas. Similar hair style and mskeup. Someone made a meme that even if u put all her different costume attire together you wouldn't think it's from different dramas. I think she has a certain makeup look that makes her pretty so she's unwilling to change that. Probably bc she's known as a person that wasn't born naturally pretty but put effort into making herself pretty. She knows what hair style and makeup fits her so she keeps it that way.
I saw a snippet of it. She plays another porsecutor I believe. Not entirely sure. But 1 kdrama a year is more than enough for me to handle. Im just taking a short break from cdrama until good ones come out
This is coming from a girl that stopped watching kdramas almost a decade ago. Perhaps watch one every couple of years. Most recent one was CLOY, and Squid Game (mostly bc it's on Netflix). I even found Squid Game soso, and I couldn't finish Hotel Luna (started last week and dropped after ep 2). I'm a cdrama girl through and through. Found this drama on a Chinese video giving good reviews that it's "refreshing, a breath of fresh air". Well, I finished 3 eps in one sitting and it is definitely very refreshing, like a release of pent up frustration from the subdued daughter in law. Love fl's personality, and her capabilities and skills. Idk how long I will stick to this drama, but so far it's pretty good. I don't think I've watched many, or at all, of Honey Lee's dramas but this girl can act. Exaggerating in a way that's natural and not cringey.
Early 2019. Everyone seems to be trashing it on douban about the old fashioned plot.
Are you referring yo the ml? I didnt think he was memorable. The hairstyle doesn't fit him bc it makes him look short and stubby. I found out he plays the AI robot/uncle in Joy of Life. I was immensely surprised yet also disappointed. I guess he's only outstanding when half his facial features are masked

I cant stand the fl's dubbed voice and her character. Sha bai tians aren't in trend anymore. It's pity bc this actress can act. I've seen her in big productions as 2nd fl and she did great.
