The love story was confusing as hell for me too.For first few episodes, I thought the ML was gay. They had a montage…
Point 1 - I was not talking about sex at all
Point 2 - I was not even talking about dating
Please remember these two points in this discussion. I am tired of repeating what I am trying to convey and misunderstood.
What I am talking about is the ML never having any feelings for any girl until he meets the FL. This is the most common scenario in Cdramas.
The FL is shown to have crushed on, attracted to other men in Cdramas and in quite few of the dramas, she dates other guys. She has nice, cute, intimate moments with other men, like normal girls have.
The ML on the other hand is never attracted to any girls other than FL. The ML is very rarely shown to have ever dated other girls. The ML is absolutely never ever shown to have cute and romantic moments with any other girl than the FL.
These dramas pretty much seem like written by women who have ZERO idea about men.
I think it’s quite realistic because he likes the girl. Even though, the broadcasting mistake was not done on…
You can take any example of a person making a complete idiot of themselves on their own, which the FL did in this case. The place did not cause the incident. Her reading out the letter and people finding out caused it. That was an accident waiting to happen since she has done this few times already.
Anyway, if the drama makes the FL realize her mistake and say sorry to the ML, do let me know. I will gladly admit the writers of the drama got it right by giving growth to the FL and even the ML. :)
I think it’s quite realistic because he likes the girl. Even though, the broadcasting mistake was not done on…
Ok, lets go with your premise.
He 'feels' guilty. Does the drama attempt to balance it out and let the FL know what exactly happened and who should be responsible for what happened?
if that happens & the FL realizes she was the one who wronged the ML and gets on her knees to say sorry to him, then I would agree that there is progress.
not planning to continue watching this toxic shit unless the story and characters start making logical sense. but when the drama makes the FL realize how wrong she was, do let me know, I will happily agree I was wrong about the direction the drama is going.
PS: Yeah, I do understand the word 'feel' and it does not matter whether he 'feels' guilty or he is guilty since it's all the same from the drama POV. The drama does not make the ML 'feel' guilty, he is pretty much guilty by the he behaves, the girl behaves, their parents behaves...There is no 'feeling' there. Him being guilty is an established fact in the drama.
I think it’s quite realistic because he likes the girl. Even though, the broadcasting mistake was not done on…

What are you talking about?
Just because he asked her to come there leads to him being responsible and be guilty?
She got in trouble for the letter she read out - period. In fact she did that thing repeatedly to him in spite him showing visible discomfort. Imagine you ask some one to meet at basketball court & then the person who comes there removes their clothes and gets exposed to the world. Is it the fault of the person who asked to come there?
This exactly is the mentality of this drama. Does the Fl realize the crap she pulled and say sorry to the guy? I bet No and I don't expect it happen through out the drama.
Their relationship is toxic, the ML is simping and would agree to murder to get the girl. The girl is too self-centered to even realize the shit she put him through. The guy will keep enabling her toxic behavior and the girl will keep assaulting the guy, because no matter what in this relationship, that simp is always wrong. These are two people who will never better each other as persons because one is afraid of losing the girl & the other does not even realize how toxic she is being.
I think it’s quite realistic because he likes the girl. Even though, the broadcasting mistake was not done on…
the FL was the one was the who decided to recite the love letter, the ML did not ask her to. She was the one who chose to do it not ML. The ML was uncomfortable when she did the same repeatedly. It was the FL who kept pestering him. He repeatedly showed his displeasure but she would keep at it.
It was a combination of her own stupidity and accident that caused the issue. The ML had zero responsibility for it. Her misunderstandings etc were her own making. Her getting into trouble was her own making.
The drama makes the ML feel guilty and repeatedly say sorry for something he has absolutely no responsibility for.
What's worse, the FL never is made to understand that she was the one who caused her own misery and the ML was the victim. She should have been the who would eventually be saying sorry to him.
Let me ask you...does that happen? Does the FL say sorry for treating him like shit, beating him and misunderstanding him?
It's not about liking or not liking the characters. The story does not make sense. Exactly what is ML saying sorry for? What is he responsible for? Just because he likes the girl gives her the entitlement to treat him like she did?
In real life we do see entitled and arrogant humans like the FL but this is a drama that needs to follow rules of a drama. As such there needs to be consequences of what she did to ML or a closure where she is shown to have understood that it was her actions that led to all the things that happened and apologize to the ML.
Does any of it happen? I bet the drama will make the ML continue to say sorry as if it was his fault and FL was the victim.
Even though the FL seems bit pouty and immature, I am wondering if she is one of those FL's who is in her teens...
Any comparison to Who rules the world is moot. The tone of both dramas is vastly different. Whole WRTW felt campy, this one has a more mature and dark tone to it.
I think it’s quite realistic because he likes the girl. Even though, the broadcasting mistake was not done on…
broadcasting mistake was done by the FL, not the ML. If anyone has to say sorry, it should be the FL for barging in to his work place to recite love letters from other girl. She made the mistake, she misunderstood and the story should make her realize that and make amends.
instead all we get to see is the ML being abused, physically assaulted and treated like crap for no fault of his. I literally mean that, he had ZERO fault in what happened and it was 100% fault of the girl.
If it was the guy who abused the girl, physically assault her and treat her like shit even though it was his fault - we would be shouting that the girl should end up with the 2ML.
This one needed a nice 2FL to have nice and cute interactions with ML, to smack the FL across the face but instead we get a 2ML. Having 2ML in this drama made little sense, it does not add anything since the ML is already licking the FL boots all the time.
This is a drama, it needs to be logical for continuity. The plot devises used here are making no sense at all.
The ML has taken simping to a whole new level in this one.
I have no idea why this idiot keeps apologizing for something he never did. If anyone was wrong it was the FL who kept reciting love letters from other girl even though the ML was uncomfortable. It was a self inflicted wound but hey the simp has to say sorry for rest of his life even though he had nothing to do with it.
The love story was confusing as hell for me too.For first few episodes, I thought the ML was gay. They had a montage…
You need to rewatch the drama, There are numerous conversations between FL and her friend regarding attributes of the ML, including physical ones.
ML's in Cdramas are always cold. It's basically the main attribute of the ML to justify his ZERO interaction with any other girl in the drama. Without this attribute for the ML, you have to show him similar to FL, who has meaningful interactions, including cute, romantic ones with other men in the drama. Because the drama does not want the ML to do anything with any other girl, him being cold and mean is a must.
These ML's remind me...forgive me for saying this, Dildos. They are just in the drama for a single specific purpose, along with another dildo or two. Just like Dildos, the ML seem to exist in the drama for a single purpose.
Finally, I think I understand your point about target audience. It makes sense but it's jarring. These dramas through the ML want to project that the perfect man is the one without any history ever with any other girl.
Are these dramas written by women by any chance? These writers seem like their only experience with men is watching other Cdramas.
I think I like the term Dildo for these kinds of ML's. It fits them perfectly.
The love story was confusing as hell for me too.For first few episodes, I thought the ML was gay. They had a montage…
The problem with what your saying is that ML is indeed interested in girls...scratch it, he is interested in a single girl, the FL.
This is the core problem with significant number of Cdramas, the ML sexuality is absolutely neutered for a specific reason.
Look at the FL, she has no problem being with good looking guys, being attracted to them and romancing them. In this drama, from the first episode FL was practically drooling over the ML and yes it was very superficial. For all purposes Fatty on the team had the sweetest disposition but we all know why our girl did not go him and instead went for the ML. We also know why the FL and her friend would explicitly discuss ML and how good looking he is repeatedly.
Point being, FL in Cdramas do act some what similar to how girls would react, their sexuality is not neutered. ML's on the other hand.....
have you finished the first 10 episodes? which leads is your favourite?
Finished Ep 4.
Like all the 5 mains, they are pretty unique in their own way and are at different stages of their goals, ambitions etc etc.
ML & FL don't get extended time like other dramas and this could be due to necessity to develop the 5 mains in the initial episodes.
ML is pretty much my fav at this point, his character is pretty easy going, friendly, grounded, sometimes unsure of his place in the larger world he is exploring - pretty much unlike your typical Cdrama ML. And we get glimpses of how awesome he can be. next fav would be the 3rd ML. Frankly, this guy is pretty much stealing the show in the initial episodes. FL looks to have led sheltered life and it pretty much reflects but she is not dumb. She is pretty much a child at this point in the drama. Has great chemistry with everyone. 2ML is looking little flat for some reason (he could be the ML in your typical Cdrama, little cold, bit reserved etc) but we get to see glimpses of great dynamic between him, ML and the FL - No, at this point there is not even a hint of love triangle but we do get hints of romance between ML and FL.
This is a remake of the Korean drama "I'm Not A Robot." In the original, the disease is just used to illustrate…
I was being sarcastic.
in Kdramas, the ML's are better portrayed than in Cdramas. So, when the Kdramas portray a ML with some weird disease, I can see how it fits the larger narrative integral to the story.
BUT in Cdramas, the ML's are just one-dimensional. If anyone has seen 1 Cdrama, they will see the same ML being repeated in every other Cdrama. Whether the ML has weird diseases, rich, poor, trauma or not...all the ML in Cdramas are pretty much the same. the ML having the disease in Kdrama makes sense but in Cdrama it does not. Simply because whether they have disease or not, trauma or not, the Cdrama ML's in every drama are exactly the same. The ML in this drama having that particular medical condition does not make him any different to the dozens of other ML's portrayed in other Cdramas this year.
A Cdrama ML, who is a CEO and can only touch the FL....
remember seeing half a dozen dramas with same concept.
Why do Cdrama ML's have these kind of weird diseases? Since these diseases are men specific are Chinese authorities doing some research as to why rich and successful young male CEO's are being afflicted with them?
Point 2 - I was not even talking about dating

Crazy love is more Rom Com, while this one is more angsty.

Watch a few of these dramas and you just might become an expert at answering the question yourself.
The FL needs help.
Both of them are traumatized and are hiding from the world.
One is full of guilt and another is in rage at her dreams collapsing.
