Brother of the ML though, yikes. What a scum. Thinking of bonking your brother's girl, even if she is his ex. What kind of scum would be hitting on his brother's girl/ex.

And the FL, ouch, why would you ever consider dating brother of your BF/ex?

The story was absolutely fantastic for majority of the show.
Somehow the writers introduced this bizarre angle.

It was disgusting & in the end ML did not deserve such a scum of a brother and such filthy GF. Should have ended up with some another girl.

wow at Episode 18 and the tantrum of FL.

She has no problem going out & having sweet moments with her senior
but
the ML has a sweet moment with another girl (in reality he is comforting her), the FL throws a massive tantrum.

Her double standards are out of the world.

Why does Lin Nan Yi's soul and body belong to Tong Xi?
It's not like the she is pining for the ML. She likes other guys than the ML....not sure why other girls can't go after ML?
Why should the ML's body and soul belong to FL when her body and soul are with other guys?

They are all badly written,

Nothing to do with the actor really, Cdrama ML's have very little scope, since the whole ML character lives and dies for the FL and has very little life outside of FL.

You just described every Cdrama ML.

The synopsis then is wrong,
Half the Cdramas I have watched this year has brothers romancing the FL.

It was good until the FL dates ML's younger brother,

It just boggles my mind.
A guy dating his older brothers GF, absolute scum.
A girl dating her Boy Friend's younger brother, absolute filth.

It did not matter how good the drama was before, once this crap happened, it just went south.

Why would Cdramas have this trope in so many dramas? Is Sly incest a thing in China?

Have seen so many Cdramas with brothers falling in love FL & in some they even date.
Have never seen reverse though, FL and her sister falling for the ML and him dating both of them and I think this pattern is very intentional by the people behind these crappy drams.

She died without TQ reciprocating her feelings. In a way she sacrificed herself for the guy. The guy did not deserve her one bit.

She is gorgeous.
ML called her fat few times, must be bloody blind.
FL is stunning.

The creep TQ strike again in Ep 36.

I find Hou Chi's father's love to be infinitely better than what TQ has done in the drama,
Look at what Gu Jun does for FL....TQ can never ever compare to that.

The dynamic between Gu Jun and HC is so endearing to watch & you can feel his love and affection for her through what he does.

TQ would have been fantastic character had he stuck to him being the brother and trying to protect his sister, would have made the drama even better.
His pursuing her makes each and every action of his suspect, because they don't come from a good place. He comes across as a obsessed.

Not same,

FL knows TQ all her life since she was a toddler.
Feelings can be toxic. At some point some one chases & it can get sticky.

but that's not the root of the problem here.
TQ can chase the FL all he wants, it can be toxic as hell if needed, a trope well used in drama. That is also not a problem since it's a plot devise to move the drama.

The problem here is the nature of their relationship and how the FL sees him. Even after that TQ continuing to pursue here - he comes across as scum.

yes, if she said she sees him as a friend, this would have been so much better.

Pursuing a girl who is in love with someone else & sees the guy as Elder Brother felt awkward.
It might have been better is the FL did not know TQ since she was a toddler. She knew & her feelings for him were probably set from a very young age. That adds to the ikkyness.

Rejection + Elder brother and him still pursuing her felt awkward.

Thank god I don't watch Thai dramas, don't think I will survive those kinds of plots.

Nothing wrong with growing up as brother-sister relationship and then finding true feelings. In fact when you are really young, romantic feelings are not what would keep a boy and girl together. So, there is nothing in that trope.

Here it's different. Characters are tens of thousands of years old.
The FL knows she stands with respect to each character. To continuously hit on a girl who thinks of you as elder brother felt really awkward - may be it's just me who felt that way.

FL lead never called the ML as elder brother.

FL told TQ that he is like elder brother to her and she has no other feelings for him.

Simply ignoring this fact and try and compare what QM did to chase FL to what TQ is doing is not right.

People pursue each other, thats fact of life.
Brother pursuing sister is messed up - trying to justify that by comparing to other guys pursuing her is simply wrong comparison.

Don't want to poke fun..

But imagine if a guy brings a girl home to introduce to his family and the girl looks exactly like his sister...:)

It's a bit of a head scratcher.

Brother, sister, father, mother - these words have a purity and an absolutely safety in them. You don't need to second guess the love and affection in these words.

Anyway, this is better than another drama Dr Cutie.
In that the FL stabs the ML, runs away with his brother, has a fling with the brother and gets back with ML.
It was shocker.
Is it common in some Asian countries that brothers of boyfriend are potential romantic interest & Vice Versa...
I would think the GF of your brother is absolutely the last girl you would go out with even if they are broken up...
