Imagine in these dramas if the FL did not exist, what would you think about ML? Yeah, a Eunuch :) FL are much better written in dramas. Even without ML in the drama, they shine and their story is interesting.
Have watched few Cdramas this year and unfortunately the ML's were written poorly. In fact in all these dramas, the ML come across as carbon copies. They behave the same way in every drama. You start a new Cdrama and you know how the ML is going to be.
It's like some one made a template and distributed it to the writers as how the ML must be.

That's probably biologically in accurate though. Guys in their 20's, well, show bit of cleavage and each and everyone of them will drool. The one that does not drool is definitely gay. I can understand it being a trope in drama but it's weird seeing ML character in cdramas being like that. Other male characters come across better than ML though. Like the Female characters though, they come across as normal girls, attracted to number of boys like normal girls and going through the process, unlike Eunuch like ML
Wondering why lot of Cdrama ML's come across as Eunuchs?! The FL in Cdramas behave okish where they look at other guys or interested in other guys. But ML in many dramas can be mistaken for Eunuchs if not for their attraction to FL. They don't even look at other girls.
This drama took that to the next level where you can mistake the ML as gay if not for the FL.
