Everyone's saying PSJ is a miscast and his acting is really bad in this show. Is this actually true or just exaggeration??
He was very good. his character was one that had multiple sides. As the drama goes on, the facade the character puts up start coming apart.
If anything, the FL was not consistent and the acting was stiff. Most of drama she had only one expression but the character was written as superhero with god complex.
This almost went down the line of 'All of us are Dead' but fortunately they did not. In 'All of us are dead' the ML sees his mother in horrible state, undead and few hours later he is shown running in joy for finally getting a kiss from FL. Any normal boy, at that age losing his mother would be devastated, to the point where the emotions would be shock and sorrow for significant amount of time. The makers wanted to push the romance part and screwed up big time by belittling the raw emotions of losing a mother. It did not make any kind of logical sense in that drama.
In this one, the writers almost went that line but pulled back, hopefully intentionally.
As the drama goes on, we get more and more background of ML, his motives and what drives him. It becomes completely clear to viewers, it's not FL that drives him but the family and friends he made. the family he built was what drives him and he would go to any lengths to save them.
The best moment in the drama was the young ML outside jail comforting the lady who becomes his mother figure. The to and fro between the ML and the older lady and their absolute dedication to each other shines as the drama goes on - not the relationship between ML and FL.
This is another drama where romance is not needed. 🙄But it's added anyway.
the first 7 episodes had like 2 mins of romance. I suspect even in other parts, it will be remain same - hopefully.
You are right though, it did not need romance but with ML and FL in fray, there has to be strong emotional bond, feelings are usually easy to write. Friendship would be very hard to write that's probably why they went down this line.

Ep 1 was pretty good for a set up. really wish they go light on the romance. The ML comes across as bit of teenager on his first crush, which does not really suit the set up. Imagine being in your 30's, your life is on the brink of being destroyed, everything gone and worse ending up dead, the last thing you are thinking of is romance.

And the man, the ML who ends up this modern woman is pure 40 year old virgin who loved this FL since he was a sperm and never looked at other woman in his life. Throw in few other handsome men in the mix and create harem for the cool woman. To achieve all this, writer sent logic and storyline to dogs.
ML supposedly dumps FL because she wants to move to city, FL goes to city, has multiple boyfriends, goes about her life without giving a rats ass about ML. ML who supposedly dumped her keeps his purity intact and supposedly waits for FL...what he is waiting for, we don't know. An incredible miracle occurs for ML where the FL suffers and has no where to go and lands back in her place. ML turns into simp king and starts chasing the FL even though he was the one who supposedly broke-up.
Now why is he chasing her again is something the drama does not care to explain..
What is the play here? Suppose the FL's problem is resolved and she gets her old job back, what happens? Isn't it the same thing a decade back which forced the ML to break up? Is ML going to have change of heart and follow her and become house husband and simp her for rest of his life?
Unless ML is complete moron, which I suspect he is, at least that's how he is being shown, he knows FL first priority is her own life and ambition. She does not need the ML, she just needs a man, any man will do. The day her office issues are resolved, she is gone and is never seeing the ML face again. She simply does not give crap about being with the ML. He is not even in the top 100 priorities of her life. So, what is the reason ML chasing her again?! It's not like she has openly announced she will stay there for rest of her life...
I just checked who is the screenwriter for this drama and it shows it's a female aged 43 which might really explain…

the second half is literally just that.
This one promised horror, gore and thrills and delivered on them.
It's pretty much heavy on Horror, thriller and gore.
if you don't like any of these, you are not gonna enjoy this one.
