It's pretty normal to have relationships in your 30's and have the need for sex.

FL was forced to go through the trial & suffer. ML did not even have 1 minute of time in the drama when this happens. So, the very first step in what happened to the FL was the curse which was basically her own trial, where she is supposed to suffer. The whole theme of the trial was suffering. She would have suffered with or without ML. The result of the trial was her gaining lot of power.
Now, while she is undergoing her trial, ML gets involved in her suffering and suffers himself, due to FL. It's convenient to forget how ML takes brutal punishments that FL was supposed to take. Right until FL ditched him, he kept running after her, trying to save her.
The whole concept of 'ML protection has limitation' is a misdirection. because FL was supposed to suffer due to her trial. That suffering was the only way for her to gain power.
Put it the other way around, if she did not suffer, she would not gained her power which made her kickass. The limitation of ML to protect FL was necessary plot point for FL to gain god hood.
Like I stated, I can show 100 things ML did for FL in that drama, name one thing FL does for ML?
If anything, FL absolutely did not deserve ML in that drama. While he was completely focused and dedicated to FL, she cared shit about the ML. She was always focused what she wanted to do, not once did she ever do a thing for ML or even cared to ask him what he wanted. Each and every interaction in later half is about FL shagging him and asking him for favors.

ML always treated the FL in that drama with respect and love that FL never matched.
Even after she gains all that power, it was the ML who keeps pulling her out of tough spots, very frequently, at incredible cost to himself. the FL barely cared for the ML until he died. he was just a sex buddy who did mad powerful things for her.
You can easily show 100 things ML did for FL in that drama, in return, there are exactly ZERO things FL did for ML.
