omg i finally finished it today, and the Rollercoaster of emotions that I was in. like. bro. there was angst, dark vibes, tragedy??? if i didn't already know the ending i would really doubt a happy ending for them. but seriously, at the beginning i was literally cursing fan xiao and was feeling very bad for shu lang but at the end I kinda felt really bad for fan xiao even though he had it coming.
and cinematography. tbh i never expected anything much but this production exceeded my expectations so much that im kinda shocked at how they pulled such a masterpiece at a comparatively low budget.
The chemistry between the actors are top notch, especially Yun Qi, he played his role so well, its hard to believe that its his first role. Pupu also did such a wonderful job.
well all I can say is, there is a reason why chinese bls are the top tier bls, and this drama portrays why it is so.

also, Yun Qi what an actor you are!! the way he acted that part where the two sides to his character, good and bad, are having a conflict....oh my gawddd he has such a promising future in acting!! even Hao yiran plays his character so beautifully!!!

also I swear whenever I watch this series idk even how 45 mins just pass like that, and the end of the ep im like wait it ended? I want the next episode!!

our fan xiaos web of deceit is slowly tearing apart and at the same time he's falling deeper in love. I really think that shulang is that type of a person who when in love, loves and cares for you with all his heart and soul, but when he's angry he'd be ready to cut you into pieces. sooo yeah fan xiao has it coming real bad in the future eps. you can already see his descent to doom.

its sooo soooo good, the series is a top tier watch and a great kdrama to end the year on, I already knew JCW is a phenomenal actor but I was also pleasantly surprised by D.O. he did a fantastic job out of that psycho role.
now about the ending, I personally felt it was a very realistic ending. jcw didn't kill the guy, and he never really got a satisfactory ending because this is reality. in reality, people never get to fully exact their revenge and trauma lives on forever. and also just because one guy committing such evil acts is dead doesnt mean their wont be another to replace him. thats just life.
so overall, a very good drama by JCW, something which i enjoyed watching and something which i finished, considering my track record with the recent jcw dramas which were really unimpressive compared to this one.
this ep was actually so sad because shu lang is falling deep for a man who has only used him uptil this point, and even introduced a very personal side of his life to him....and fan xiao has that slight guilt in his eyes when he stands in front of shu lang's mom's grave. i just shudder to think how such a good person like shu lang would react when he finds out about fan xiao's deception.
the brother is an A class asshole. for once i was happy with what fan xiao did to his hand, although that asshole of a brother deserves a lot more than just a cigarette butt pain.
honestly as the eps progress the chemistry between the two increases so much, like there is an insane amount of mature charm between them which i absolutely loveee also so much domestic bliss is sweet but its kinda like a bad premonition that things are not gonna last the way it is and we're gonna board the angst train veryyy soon and im not ready for it
bro, I went into this blind not expecting much but my oh my I was so damn wrong.....it turned out to be so so much better than my expectations!! and it is actually progressing so well its top tier chef's kiss for me !
also the chemistry between fan xiao and shu lang is so natural🤌🤌🤌🤌 i really love both the actors, they did such a fantastic job and the NC scenes?! my goodness?! it may just be one of my fav nc scenes ever??!! not too much nor too less just....perfect 💯

for everybody who is talking about the NC scene, I have something to say.
so a lot of people were complaining that the NC scene didn't land well and namping was very awkward whereas Keng was crazy good, but i disagree with this. there are some points to remember while judging about this particular series' nc scene:
1. Khem is barely 21 years old, and he's spent his entire life almost running away from ghosts. he also grew up with the impending doom of his death. how do you expect a person like that to be proficient when it comes to sex? he's not even dated anyone so he's not experienced, and there's always this thought in his mind that he's doing it with a shaman, a master who is supposed to be very revered. in this light, i think his reaction in the NC scenes were completely normal- scared, curious at the same time willing to give himself for his lover.
2. pheem is older than khem so obviously he would have much more experience and the fact that he had given up all these thoughts about lust and suddenly he finds the reincarnated love of his life, so obviously the excitement at the same time the gentle behavior shows. you can think of it like this- Pheem is an excited at the same time very gentle when it comes to sex, whereas Khem is relatively curious, scared yet trying his level best to make his lover happy.
3. some of yall even talked about khem patting his hair down being annoying. like wtf. all these mannerisms just show that he is anxious when it comes to sex AS HE SHOULD VERY RIGHTFULLY BE FOR A FIRST TIMER! And Pheem also very cautiously and gently tries to remove Khem's inhibitions.
3. bro, khem just came out of such a harrowing phase of that ghost hunting him- he lost so many loved ones, he's had nightmares almost every day, his past life haunts him AND he's been flogged too. who in their sane mind would run and bed somebody after so much ordeal? yet despite all this he slept with Pheem, just for pure love.
So overall, the nc scene was perfect, with a rightful blend of curiosity, anxiousness, gentle and polite consoling, at the same time of pure love- which yall are not really used to it seems. for some of yall nc scenes means two people eating each other to the point of insanity, yall just always want two people to go at it each other like beasts. and yes while those are sometimes enjoyable to watch, there is a thorough lack of acceptance from the audience when it comes to gentle cautious nc scenes like this and it shows how immature yall are in the comments.
Khemjira was a throughly enjoyable and there are very few bls who get this combo of horror and romance right. the horror scenes were not cringy and the chemistry was impeccable. Keng is soooo hot gawddd and i really hope to see them in other dramas.
(P.S: i just saw an edit on insta where Khem literally rolls his eyes back in the NC scene when Peem.....ya know....puts it in SO HOW YALL SAY KHEM IS BAD AT IT?! THAT'S SOME REALISTIC SHIT OUT THERE!)
